Perfect Family Episode 2 recap: Does Gyeon-ho reciprocate Su-yeon's feelings?
The episode 2 of Perfect Family starts the story of how Su-yeon got injured. After Sun-hui set fire to the orphanage, Su-yeon got trapped inside and had to be hospitalised. Meanwhile, Sun-hui was adopted and taken away. With the help of a sponsorship, Su-yeon managed to survive.
As Su-yeon tells Sun-hui the story of how Sun-hui ruined her life, Sun-hui is engulfed with guilt and is weeping. She had thought Su-yeon had already left when she set the fire and apologised to Su-yeon, telling her she had no idea.
Su-yeon promises to take what she deserves and leaves. Remembering her father's words, Sun-hui writes a letter to Su-yeon. In the letter, she apologizes again and tells her that she assumed Su-yeon had gotten adopted. She also promises to do her best to pay back the debt. Meanwhile, the bullies come and start asking Su-yeon about her wig and her conversation with Sun-hui.
Su-yeon easily overpowers them and warns them to stay away from Sun-hui. Su-yeon later thanks Sun-hui for the letter and leaves. On her way back, she is attacked by the bullies, accompanied by a few boys this time. Gyeong-ho, who is passing by, comes to her help. After dealing with the bullies, Gyeong-ho grabs Su-yeon by the arm and runs away from the cops. Now accompanied by Hyun-woo, they walk Su-yeon to her place.
The next day, while Sun-hui, Hyun-woo and Gyeong-ho are taking pictures, Su-yeon offers to help. She also clicks a picture with Gyeong-ho. Su-yeon even goes to Sun-hui's house for dinner.
The next day in college, Su-yeon overhears Gyeong-ho talking about his crush on Sun-hui. She goes to Sun-hui and asks her not to take Gyeon-ho seriously unless she wants to jeopardize their friendship. Su-yeon rejects Sun-hui's dinner invitation and apologizes for yelling at her.
Sun-hui hurries to deliver notes to Su-yeon but notices her heading to Gyeong-ho's house. Inside, Gyeong-ho has planned a surprise for Sun-hui, which annoys Su-yeon. Suddenly, Sun-hui hears screams and rushes in to find Gyeong-ho holding Su-yeon's hands, revealing her burned scalp.
Su-yeon, blaming Sun-hui for her injuries, lunges at her with a knife, but Gyeong-ho intervenes and takes the stab wound instead. Covered in blood, Sun-hui returns home and tells her mother she has killed Gyeong-ho.
Her mother handles her and asks her to get changed. Sun-hui wants to turn herself in, but her mother is against it. At her home the next morning, everything is normal. On the news, she finds that Gyeong-ho's house was burnt down, and the police suspect arson. Su-yeon, now scared, keeps calling Sun-hui on her phone but she does not pick.
In a flashback, Sun-hui is shown getting adopted, and here, the second episode of Perfect Family comes to an end.
The next episode of Perfect Family will air on August 21, 2024 (Wednesday).
