Perfect Family Episode 3 Recap: Su-yeon tries to persuade Sun-hui to take the fall for Gyeong-ho's murder 

On August 14, 2024, KBS2 premiered Perfect Family, the newest South Korean suspense drama that captivated audiences with its compelling plot. The series airs on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9:50 PM KST and may also be viewed on Viki and Viu in some regions.

Kim Byung-chul, Yoon Se-ah, and Park Ju-hyun are among the cast members of Perfect Family, which is directed by Yukisada Isao and is based on the well-liked webtoon by Nyangpa and Joo Eun. The story of Perfect Family revolves around Choi Jin-hyeok, his spouse Ha Eun-ju, and their daughter Sun-hui.

Their seemingly ideal existence comes crashing down when Sun-hui comes home drenched in blood and admits to maybe killing someone. Tensions boil in their neighborhood as secrets and suspicions grow. In episode 3 of Perfect Family, which aired on August 21, Sun-hui discovers a few things about her family and is visited by a mysterious person.

Perfect Family Episode 3 recap:

In the third episode of Perfect Family, Su-yeon appears at Sun-hui's home and pleads to be let in since she has to meet her urgently. She asks Sun-hui if she set the fire and tries to persuade her that she killed Gyeong-ho and asks her to turn herself in. She asks Sun-hui if she will blame the fire on Su-yeon like she did before.

Sun-hui refuses since she does not want to disappoint her parents. Su-yeon asks her to get ready and go to the police station with her, but as she leaves her room, Jin-hyeok intervenes and asks if he should drive them since Sun-hui is sick. Unable to answer, Su-yeon leaves.

In a flashback, Gyeong-ho is seen arranging a surprise for Sun-hui when Su-yeon enters. Trying to convince Gyeong-ho that Sun-hui does not care about him, she shows him the gift that Gyeong-ho had given Sun-hui. Gyeong-ho asks for it back, but Su-yeon refuses and goes into a fit of rage.

Trying to control her, Gyeong-ho accidentally pushes her, and her wig comes off. Feeling humiliated, Su-yeon grabs a knife to take her life, but Gyeong-ho intervenes. As Sun-hui arrives, Su-yeon charges at her, but Gyeong-ho saves her and takes the stab himself.

In the present, Su-yeon almost goes to the police station to confess but instead gets into a car. Sun-hui's mother refuses to answer and pretends everything is normal when Sun-hui asks how her notebook and phone were in her room when she had left them at Gyeong-ho's place.

Meanwhile, Su-yeon is bleeding from her head inside the car. She regains consciousness and, recognizing the threat, tries to flee. Hyun-woo comes to Sun-hui's house to go to Gyeong-ho's funeral together. Her father picks her up from the funeral and promises her that he will protect her.

At their house, the police are waiting for them. As Jin-hyeok goes to speak to them, Sun-hui finds Gyeong-ho's gift, which Su-yeon had taken from her in the car. The police interrogate her and ask her about Su-yeon, and she tells them that she has not seen her. Her parents are happy that Sun-hui did not reveal that Su-yeon visited them the day before.

Suspicious, Sun-hui calls Hyun-woo and asks for Su-yeon's address. She visits the place and finds that Su-yeon has not been home for days. Meanwhile, at the police station, the autopsy shows a stab wound.

When Sun-hui reaches home, she finds a man who claims to be her father's friend. While leaving, he warns her of her parents. In a flashback, Sun-hui and Gyeong-ho are seen drawing each other's faces. Gyeong-ho finds comfort in Sun-hui's words and is eager to give her the gift he custom-made for her. This is where the third episode of Perfect Family ends.
