Perfect Family premiered on KBS2 on August 14, 2024, and its intense and suspenseful plot quickly captivated viewers. The drama aired every Wednesday and Thursday at 9:50 pm KST and is available for streaming on platforms like Viki and Viu in select regions. The last episode of the drama aired on 19 September and the production has not announced a second season yet with little scope of the same.
The star cast of Perfect Family includes Kim Byung-chul as Choi Jin-hyuk, Yoon Se-ah as Ha Eun-ju, and Park Ju-hyun as Choi Seon-hae. The show is directed by Yukisada Isao and is based on a popular webtoon by Nyangpa and Joo Eun. Perfect Family centers around Choi Jin-hyuk, his wife Ha Eun-ju, and their daughter Sun-hui, whose seemingly perfect lives spiral out of control when they become involved in a murder investigation.

Perfect Family episode 12: Who does Sun-hui choose to be her family?
In the last episode of Perfect Family, Hyeon-min is happy with what Sun-hui has done. In a flashback, it shows that Hyeon-min had contacted Sun-hui after the incident. He proposed that they start anew and required Sun-hui to carry out a task. Back in the present, Sun-hui asks him to keep his promise in return. He agrees and promises to never meddle with Jin-hyuk and Eun-ju again. Excited, he grabs a bottle of liquor but stops.
To ensure a good future together, they would need money. Sun-hui tells him that Jin-hyuk keeps his money in a locker in the study room and the password is her birthday. Hyeon-min rushes to the room and tries to remember her birthday but the password shows an error even after multiple attempts. Sun-hui asks if he remembers her birthday.
Frustrated, he chugs half a bottle of liquor kept on the table and gets back to trying again. He finally succeeds and with money in his hand, he is overjoyed. However, soon he starts grabbing his neck as if he is unable to breathe. He crawls out of the room and faints. Sun-hui tells him this is the only way left.
Sun-hui had added poison to all the liquor bottles in the house. She now grabs a bottle herself and puts it to her lips. Just then, Eun-ju stops her and reminds her that her parents will always protect her. As the police rush in after being informed by Hyun-woo, they find the four unconscious.
Three years later, Hyun-woo emails Sun-hui in Canada about his job as an architect and the house he wants to build. He mentions her parents, who feel hollow, and Suyeon, who will be released from prison in three months. He expresses that he misses her.
As snow begins to fall, Detective Shin visits Detective Lee's grave to remember him. When Eun-ju and Jin-hyuk return from grocery shopping, Eun-ju feels like someone is watching her.
In this episode of Perfect Family, Su-yeon is also released and Hyun-woo and her foster sister go to pick her up. At a cafe, Hyun-woo tells her that no one knows where Sun-hui is and that she has not attended her school in two months either. Su-yeon recalls her time in the orphanage when Sun-hui would tell her that she wanted to be her mother. Since Su-yeon did not have a family, she considered Sun-hui to be one. When separated, Su-yeon felt lost.
So she found where Sun-hui studied and enrolled herself as well. Unable to express her feelings well, even though she liked Sun-hui, she ended up giving her a hard time.
In their house, Eun-ju and Jin-hyuk reminisce the time when Sun-hui first stepped foot intot he house. Just then, Eun-ju looks out the window and tells Jin-hyuk that she saw Sun-hui. Jin-hyuk rushes out intot he street to find Sun-hui walking away. Eun-ju and Jin-hyuk call out her name and she turns, immediately bursting into tears.
Eun-ju prepares a meal for them but overcome by emotion, Sun-hui tears up again. She tells them that she thought vanishing from their lives was the only way to ensure that they could be happy but she kept missing them and believed she would be able to leave once she saw them a last time.
Jin-hyuk apologises for being selfish and forgetting about Sun-hui's feelings while trying to protect the family and keep it together. Eun-ju tells her that they both are not perfect but they would like to have Sun-hui as their daughter. Sun-hui agrees and the family unites in a hug.
Sun-hui writes a letter to her grandmother, Jin-hyuk's mother, asking her to be in the family photo that they are taking. After consideration, her grandmother decides to show up. She apologizes to Jin-hyuk and Eun-ja and the four take the picture together.
In the end, Sun-hui and her parents go back to living together happily in the finale of Perfect Family.
Can fans expect a second season?
Based on a comic that does not continue the story, Perfect Family is not expected to have another season. The end is conclusive with Sun-hui reuniting with her family. The drama does not leave much scope for a second season as it gives its characters a happy climax with no signs hinting at another season either.
There also has not been any announcement regarding the same.
