On July 17, 2024, BTS' Kim Taehyung, aka V, made headlines online as his hairstylist, Mujin, shared a signed postcard by the idol on Instagram. The Love Me Again singer-songwriter sent a signed copy of his TYPE 1 photobook and left a message on one photo postcard.
According to the message, the BTS idol requested his hairstylist to "always leave an empty slot" in his schedule to call Taehyung.
"To Mujin Hyung, Please clear your schedule and call me/Please always leave an empty slot in your schedule for me so I’m able to contact you/keep in touch (with you)"

For the uninitiated, Korean celebrity hairstylist Mujin Choi has worked with BTS since 2019 and has gained popularity since then. Furthermore, fans praised him for Taehyung's classic blue hairstyle for the Harper's Bazaar Korea January photoshoot. Mujin said that the BTS star desired a hair color that matched the aesthetic of his preferred Western movies like Call Me By Your Name.
Mujin Choi's journey of styling Taehyung and other BTS members' hairstyles
During his interview with Harper's Bazaar Korea on January 29, 2024, Mujin Choi revealed his process of choosing the blue hair color for the Layover musician's photoshoot. Mujin mentioned that Taehyung was concerned that coloring his hair blue would make him look flamboyant.
He added that it was the first time Taehyung had tried the long hair look in his career. Hence, they created a classic pale blue color by combining two different shades of CURLYSHYLL. Along with the BTS idol, Mujin tried to maintain the color and style as natural and carefree as possible.
"After checking the overall story, draft, and concept of the pictorial planned by Bazaar in advance, the mise-en-scène of 'Call Me By Your Name' came to mind. The warmest 'blue color' with a European sensibility that is not particularly decorated. In order to evoke that inspired mood, the hair color was expressed as a 'pale blue' like watercolor, not a vivid color," Mujin said.
In February 2024, Mujin Choi opened his new salon in Seoul named Faire by Mujin. The celebrity hairstylist is well-known for working with other K-pop stars such as ASTRO's Cha Eun-woo, and Lovely Runner famed actress Kim Hye-yoon, among others.
He also created the ash-golden hair color for Taehyung during his Layover promotion in September 2023. Additionally, the hairstylist was behind V's hairstyle for the Panthère de Cartier photoshoot, ELLE, The Pop Mag, and Arena magazine photoshoots, among others.
Moreover, he was praised for BTS j-hope's faded-purple hair color for the idol's Me, Myself, and j-hope photoshoot sketch, released in February 2023. Mujin Choi was also j-hope's hairstylist when he featured on Crush's single, CRUSH HOUR.
In other news, BTS V enlisted in the South Korean military on December 11, 2023, and is actively serving in the Special Duty Team (SDT) division. He will return in June 2025.
Meanwhile, his TYPE 1 ARTSPACE exhibition is being held via BIGHIT MUSIC to commemorate the release of his photobook. The exhibition will take place between July 12 and July 21, 2024, in Gangnam.
