Stray Kids’ Han expressed excitement about EXchange 3 participants Dongjin and Dahye in his recent appearance on The MMTG show. On July 25, The MMTG show dropped its latest episode featuring Stray Kids’ Han, Lee Know, Changbin, and Hyunjin. Han has shown his interest in the South Korean dating reality show EXchange 3, a dating show where ex-couples live together to find love or get back together. He especially was interested in the ex-couple Dongjin and Dahye, who chose other people in the show.
Han was moved by Dongjin and Dahye's story, who broke up after thirteen years of a relationship. He also penned the song, 13, which was released on March 8, after drawing inspiration from their story.
As the host Jae Jae mentioned the song, Han could not hold back his excitement and expressed his happiness as Dongjin and Dahye announced getting back together on July 4 through their Instagram page.
Han added that he would write another song on their 15th anniversary and asked them to continue seeing each other,
“I’ll write another song for your 15th anniversary. Please keep dating.”
Stray Kids’ Han on writing the song 13 about EXchange 3’s Dongjin and Dahye, and more
On March 8, Han dropped the solo song 13, an unofficial track released as a part of the SKZ-Record series on Stray Kids' official YouTube channel. He collaborated with Vendors' Helixx and ZENUR for the composition.
Following the release of 13 on March 8, the Stray Kids member revealed the inspiration behind the song through a Q&A video. He received questions from fans, one of which was if he had written the song after watching EXchange 3.
To which Han stated,
“Yes that's right! I’ve been watching EXchange these days.. after watching the 1st & 2nd episode, I like Dongjin-nim so I wrote his story as the background.”
Dongjin and former BESTie member Dahye were in a relationship for thirteen years. However, they parted ways and appeared on EXchange 3. Their story left viewers and the cast members in shock, and many fans rooting for them to get back together.
By the end of the dating show in April 2023, they decided to move on, and Dongjin matched with another cast member, Hyewon. However, on July 4, Dahye took to her official Instagram page to reveal her relationship with Dongjin.
Dahye shared a few Polaroid pictures with Dongjin.
She stated,
“Hello! This is Dahye. Right after the broadcast, oppa and I had a lot of concerns about our relationship, and until recently it was difficult to say anything definite, but now I think we can talk about it happily.”
She stated that they were not getting married but asked fans to show them love in the future as they embark on a new journey together.
She added,
“We are getting along well now (We are not getting married haha). Please give us a lot of support and love in the future.”
Dongjin also shared a Polaroid photo with her and wrote:
“It took too long, but I will love you even as much as I regret it!”
