On August 26, 2024, TV Chosun (South Korean publication) reported that the electric scooter of BTS' Min Yoongi aka Suga did not require a license plate. According to South Korea's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's confirmation, the electric scooter was not subject to a license attachment.

Suga was summoned for questioning on August 23. After that, the idol posted a handwritten apology letter on Weverse again on August 25.

On August 23, Suga arrived at the police precinct for an interrogation. He was charged with drunk driving an electric scooter on August 6, 2024. The rapper reportedly tripped from his electric scooter in front of his residence gate when three police officers walked up to him for questioning.

Meanwhile, after his police summons on August 23, the Polar Night rapper-songwriter posted another apology on Weverse. In his handwritten letter, he wrote:

"I would like to apologize again to you with shame. I deeply apologize for the disappointment and hurt of my misbehavior to my fans and everyone who loves me. [...] I'm sorry that the members who always trusted me have a hard time because of me. And I know the disappointment that the fans who supported and supported me must have felt."

Amidst all this, a netizen filed a petition to Seoul's Military Manpower Administration and demanded a thorough investigation into the BTS rapper's ongoing enlistment service on August 12, 2024. The netizen speculated that the rapper must have often asked for preferential treatment and leaves from the military.

On August 23, The Korea Herald reported that the organization might inspect if he has been carrying out military service as a social service worker. The Military Manpower Administration would check if the organization provided any special treatment to the rapper, regarding his work.

For the unversed, the BTS idol enlisted in the military as a social service worker due to his old shoulder injury, for which he underwent surgery in 2020. He was categorized as a Grade-5 recruit, who is unfit to carry out regular military duties but can opt for alternate social service employment.

Meanwhile, ARMYs have been showing support for the BTS member by streaming his songs. It led to many songs from his discography to chart on the iTunes chart. His track Polar Night maintained the number 1 position, as of August 25, on the Worldwide iTunes song chart. Other songs like The Last, Snooze, Haegeum, and more have also taken up various spots on the chart.

Min Yoongi enlisted on September 22, 2023, and will return in June 2025 to resume group activities with BTS.
