“Pop culture legends”: Fans rejoice as BTS members’ ensembles to be displayed at Julien's Auctions with Michael Jackson & Taylor Swift

BTS’ members' ensembles from the Life Goes On music video have been announced to be displayed at Julien's Auctions’ Legends in Motion exhibition. The seven members: RM, Jin, Suga, J-hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook’s outfits will be showcased alongside well-known personalities' memorabilia, namely late martial artist Bruce Lee, pop icon Michael Jackson, Taylor Swift, and many more.

On September 13, Tatler reported that the seven pajama ensembles worn by the BTS members in the Life Goes On music video will be held for auction. The Julien's Auctions is scheduled to be held in the Island Shangri-La on Saturday, September 28, 2024. This will mark the first time that the auction, originally held in Beverly Hills, will take place in Hong Kong.

Following the official website of Julien's Auctions, at the time of writing, the current bid of the band's outfits is at $60,000, reaching the estimation, which was set at 60,000 USD to 80,000 USD.

As the news started to circulate online, fans took to social media to express their pride in the K-pop boy group, while also showcasing their interest in buying the outfits. One X user stated:

"Watching BTS becoming legends infront of our eyes is my favorite thing," another user commented.
"Bts being called legends and music icons next to Michael Jackson im so f**king proud," a fan wrote.

Many netizens shared the same sentiments.

"THE LIFE GOES ON PAJAMAS?! That video was everything to me during the Pandemy. I was sitting in my living room in my own jammies, wanting to in the middle of that cuddle pile. Rich ARMYS I envy you," another fan wrote.
"I love all of them!!!! But I really REALLY want Seokjin’s PJ…," a user commented.
"More evidence that BTS are legends," a fan stated.

Fans swelled with pride at the group's ensembles at auction.

"The past few days have been reminding those who continuously try to deny it that BTS are legends who are out of the reach of many. Even when some try to diminish their impact, moments like these are the universe's way of reminding them that they can't diminish their impact," a user said.
"BTS PAVED THE WAY. After this lyric dropped every single thing in universe is proving this lyrics right," another fan added.
"Namjoon said "For Asia, man we paved the way" and the universe has made sure to back him up since?!!" a user exclaimed.

BTS is widely known for their music, and with their rising popularity, they became the first K-pop group to get nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category for their song Dynamite. Currently, all the members of the K-pop group are serving in the military except for Jin, who was discharged from his national duties in June 2024. The boy band members are expected to reunite in 2025 following their services.
