“Preparing for the year when I'm discharged from the military”- BTS' RM pens a lengthy letter to his fans on Weverse ahead of the holiday season

On December 5, BTS' RM shared a long letter dedicated to his fans on Weverse ahead of the holiday season. The Moonchild singer, currently serving compulsory military service, wrote the letter to send Christmas wishes to his fans.

The idol's letter indicated he felt low spirits as he couldn’t celebrate Christmas with his fans this year. He also mentioned that it will be a year since he began military service. For those unaware, RM joined the military on December 11, 2023, along with Kim Taehyung.

BTS' RM, aka Namjoon, conveyed his love for his fans in the message. He stated that he is always there for his fans. He also shared that he has recently started calling his bandmates more frequently. He mentioned that he had grown closer to fellow singers.

“My heart is always sincere. Please believe that I'm with you I hope you feel that It's my greed. The time is like that A lot of things happen again. Recently, I often talk to the members on the phone. Compared to living and breathing together. I think we've gotten closer. It's weird. I guess that's what life is about”

RM went on to tell how much he missed his fans through his letter. Lastly, he talked about his preparations for his military discharge, which is soon approaching.

“Is there any other way to say it I miss you. I'm just like that I read and write in my own way And the coming days. I'm preparing for the year when I'm discharged from the military. There's still some time left. I want to spend 25 years in a more meaningful way. Let's stay healthy! It's sad when you're sick. Because I'm lonely I miss you.” RM further stated

BTS' RM’s documentary Right People, Wrong Place globally released on December 5

Following its exclusive premiere at the 29th Busan International Film Festival on October 7, BTS' RM's documentary was globally released on December 5, 2024. The documentary showed the development of the artist's second solo album, Right Place, Wrong Person, and provided insights into his identity, love, and artistic passion.

A press statement from BIGHIT Music via Weverse said that the documentary Right People Wrong Place explored BTS’ RM’s perspectives and included the following elements:

"This film invites you to explore the depths of his soul, as he ponders on who he really is—caught between his roles as the leader of BTS, the solo artist RM, and simply as the person Kim Namjoon."

BTS' RM’s Right People, Wrong Place was also selected for screening at the 19th Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival. This is the main film festival of Indonesia, which commenced on November 30 and will continue until December 7. The movie was screened on December 3, the fourth day of the festival.


BTS’ Namjoon is expected to be discharged from the military in June 2025. Since he enlisted alongside Taehyung, the two idols are expected to be discharged together.
