BTS' Jungkook has once again garnered attention by securing the top position in the Oricon total sales rankings as the leading K-pop male soloist. The 3D vocalist achieved the top position as the K-pop male soloist on Japan's Oricon total sales ranking chart, with revenue from sales totaling 22.8 billion KRW.

This sales revenue encompassed sales from CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, and digital platforms. Although he achieved the #1 position as per the K-pop male soloist chart, Jungkook has been placed at #23 on the overall chart. BTS’ Jungkook has attained this milestone with his inaugural solo album, GOLDEN.

Besides Jungkook, Kim Seokjin, aka Jin, also made a place in the total sales rankings of the Oricon chart with his solo debut album HAPPY. Seokjin was placed at the #45 position in the total sales rankings chart.

BTS' Jungkook’s fans were delighted with his latest achievement in Japan. As a result, his fans took to the internet with their praises and love for the singer.

Many other reactions to Jeon Jungkook’s latest accomplishment were seen online. While many congratulated him for setting a new record, others said that his talent and hard work continue to shine.

Some referred to BTS' Jungkook as “King of K-pop,” while others emphasized how he made a record with his only debut album.

“He did it with only a debut album,” commented another fan.

BTS' Jungkook released his first solo album GOLDEN in November 2023

On January 1, 2025, BTS' Jungkook became the first K-pop soloist to sell more than 3.2 million albums on Hanteo with his solo record GOLDEN. The singer's record was the best-selling K-pop album in Hanteo's history. Jungkook surpassed Kim Gun-mo's 30-year-old standard for Wrongful Meeting.

Jungkook's GOLDEN became the best-selling K-pop soloist in terms of total album units sold for the second year in a row.


At present, Jungkook is serving his compulsory military duty. He is expected to be discharged on June 10, 2025.
