On August 12, 2024, the South Korean media outlet Newsis reported that prosecutors demanded a $2190 (3 million KRW) fine from the operator of the YouTube channel Sojang for defaming actor Kang Daniel. The hearing for the violation of Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (defamation) was held by Judge Lee Jun-goo. The case was held at the 18th Criminal Division of the Seoul Central District Court.

The YouTuber, referred to as Ms. A, uploaded a clip titled 'The Disturbing Private Life of the National Boyfriend Actor Idol' on her YouTube channel Sojang. She was subsequently made to stand on trial for defaming Kang Daniel.
