BTS’ V, aka Kim Taehyung, recently shared a cryptic story on his solo Instagram page regarding firearms amid military service, garnering attention from fans online. On September 15, V mentioned two pieces of equipment including a K1 rifle and a K5 gun, alongside images of himself in his Instagram stories.

According to The Chosun Ilbo, K1 is a submachine gun originally produced in South Korea domestically which is used as a main firearm in the Army Special Forces. Besides this, the K5 is a pistol created in South Korea and is given to colonels, military police, special force members, chief sergeants, and more.

Notably, the firearms are reportedly allotted to military personnel with significant rankings. The BTS member is currently a member of the special military police unit and due to the cryptic stories shared by him, fans speculated that he seemingly revealed the equipment he uses in the military. This further fueled the speculations about his increasing skills as a soldier.

Netizens took to social media to share their thoughts about Kim Taehyung's Instagram update allegedly about his military life. They praised him for his seemingly improved skills. Fans took to social media to express their joy.

More about BTS' V's ongoing military service

BTS member Kim Taehyung began his military service on December 11, 2023. After the conclusion of his five-week basic training at the Nonsan Training Center, he underwent an additional three-week training which was a requirement to join the Special Duty Team.

He is part of the special police unit which comes under the direct authority of the 2nd Army Corps headquarters, in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province. In June 2024, the BTS member was spotted in his police uniform on duty patrolling near Chuncheon at the 2024 Veteran Cultural Festival.
