Queen of Tears continued to break records a month after its finale as it topped the survey conducted by the research institute Korea Gallup and emerged as the most preferred television program on May 27, 2024. The show ranked first in the survey for three consecutive months, including March, April, and May, with a preference rate of 3.9%.
Queen of Tears started airing on tvN from March 9 to April 28, 2024, at 21:20 KST every Saturday and Sunday. The drama featured prominent actors, including Kim Soo-hyun, Kim Ji-won, Park Sung-hoon, Kwak Dong-yeon, and Lee Joo-bin. It was helmed by directors such as Jang Young-woo and Kim Hee-won and penned by renowned screenwriter Park Ji-eun.

The South Korean research institute Korea Gallup conducted the survey between May 21 and May 23, 2024. It involved 1,001 participants aged 18 years old and older. The survey questioned people nationwide about their favorite television programs recently with the option of voting for two shows.
Subsequently, the romantic and comedy series Queen of Tears was crowned at the No.1 position in the survey for the most preferred television program. It was also titled the first 16-episode drama, which has achieved the milestone of bagging the first position for three consecutive months and secured its position within two weeks after it started airing in March 2024.
In April, the drama achieved the first preference in the survey with 13.1% votes, and it subsequently decreased to 3.9% in May after its conclusion on April 28, 2024. Although the audience's preferences related to Queen of Tears show a significant decline in popularity, it continued to top the survey conducted by Gallup Korea, showcasing its popularity and influence worldwide.
Queen of Tears has attracted the K-drama community internationally and domestically with its universal concept of marriage. The drama grabbed viewers' attention with its appealing storyline, soundtrack, onscreen chemistry between protagonists, cinematic visuals, aesthetics, and more.
Kim Soo-hyun portrays the character of Baek Hyun-woo, while Kim Ji-won portrays Hong Hae-in. The drama delved into the story of a love tale between the married couple Baek Hyun-woo and Hong Hae-in. According to Nielsen Korea, the drama reached a nationwide rating of 24.850% for its final episode 16 on April 28, 2024. It emerged as the highest-rated tvN series in the history of domestic broadcasting channels.
Queen of Tears thus surpassed the Crash Landing on You's record. It also earned the title of the third highest-rated series in Korean cable television history for viewership ratings and the second highest by the figures related to the viewers.
