GOT7 gears up for a full group comeback while members shine in individual activities
GOT7 was created by JYP Entertainment. The group consists of seven members: Jay B, Mark, Jackson, Jinyoung, Youngjae, BamBam, and Yugyeom. Debuting in 2014, GOT7 quickly rose to fame with chart-topping tracks like A, Don’t Stop It, Just Right, If You Do It, and Hard Carry.
The group garnered immense love for their unique sound and dynamic performances. In 2021, their exclusive contracts with JYP Entertainment ended, and each member pursued individual paths under different agencies.
Despite these changes, the K-pop group emphasized that they would not disband, reaffirming their commitment to group activities. Their mini-album GOT7, released in May 2022, was their first release after parting ways with JYP.
Now, with JAY B and Jinyoung's recent discharge from mandatory military service, the group is ready to take the next step as a united team. However, the members have been actively engaged in individual projects.
JAY B released his first solo full-length album, Archive 1: [Road Runner], on November 27, 2024. Jinyoung made his first public appearance as an award presenter at the 45th Blue Dragon Film Awards on November 29, 2024.
Jackson and Mark, known for their global activities, have returned to Korea to join the recording process.
Yugyeom, who released his solo album TRUST ME earlier this year, is currently on a domestic and international tour. He is also appearing as a producer on SBS's boy group survival show Universe League.
BamBam released his third mini-album, BAMESIS, in August 2024, and frequently appearances on entertainment programs.
Youngjae, who recently concluded his Asian tour and Japanese fan meeting, stepped down from his role as DJ on MBC FM4U’s Youngjae’s Close Friend, which he hosted for over two years.
With a strong presence and synergy, GOT7’s upcoming album is reported to highlight their growth as artists and reaffirm their unity as a group. Fans worldwide are eagerly waiting for their return, which promises to be one of the most significant comebacks of the year.
