On Monday, December 9, X user @kdramaupto speculated that the K-drama series When the Phone Rings, starring Yoo Yeon-seok, and Chae Soo-bin, might have its fifth and sixth episode releases postponed again. The series' two new episodes were originally scheduled to be released on Saturday, December 7.

However, it was postponed due to the impeachment votes against the South Korean president, Yoon Suk-yeol. While many expect the release of these two episodes to take place this coming Saturday, December 21, many speculate that it might get postponed again due to the ongoing political unrest regarding the impeachment.

While fans understand the ongoing political condition of the country, they've also been frustrated about the lack of a proper platform for the release of When The Phone Rings episodes. People have also been confused as to why the episodes are not being released on Netflix as an alternative if the Korean broadcasts have restricted their broadcasts due to the political crisis.
