BLACKPINK’s Lisa released ROCKSTAR and NEW WOMAN (feat. Rosalía) in 2024. However, her notable absence from the 2025 Grammy nominations list sparked frustration and disappointment among fans.
Following the success of her recent solo releases, the BLACKPINK rapper was widely anticipated to receive Grammy recognition, particularly in categories like Best New Artist. On November 10, 2024, Billboard reported that she would have been the first K-pop artist to get a nod in this category if she had been nominated.
However, the internet community was divided over the BLACKPINK idol being snubbed from the 2025 Grammy nominations list. One netizen wrote on X:
"She released 2 songs and a cover calm down"
Her supporters believed that her latest solo song, NEW WOMAN (feat. Rosalía), deserved to be nominated for the Best MV/Duo Performance.
"Unbelievable snubs! So many talented artists deserved recognition," one fan wrote.
"Not really expecting/hoping for my girl lisa to get nominated bcs she hasn't dropped an album yet. Tho new woman def deserved the best mv/duo perf nominations at least idc. Anyways looking forward to LS1 and grammy 2026," another fan stated.
"Jungkook Lisa Jimin Hozier Bruno Mars Ladygaga They really did great this year and deserved a nomination but grammy sucks," another fan added.
Meanwhile, some netizens had a difference in opinion since the BLACKPINK idol only has released three solo songs so far since debuting in 2016.
"What Lisa is this a joke we are talking about the Grammys not vmas," one user stated.
"Lisa was snubbed. Did she even deserve it?" another fan commented.
"what would Lisa be nominated for?" another user added.
