Revolver featuring Ji Chang-wook, Jeon Do-yeon, and Lim Ji-yeon is set to be premiered in 172 countries including India. While it will be released on August 7 in South Korea, its international premiere date is yet to be revealed. The crime thriller film revolves around a former police officer Ha Soo-young depicted by Jeon Do-yeon.

She is accused and sent to prison for corruption committed by someone else. After being released, Ha Soo-young learns that the compensation for the time she spent in the prison has vanished. She also found out that Andy, played by Ji Chang-wook, was behind the disappearance of her money.

Ha Soo-young has no one to trust. She sets out with one goal - to get her money back which rightfully belonged to her. According to the trailer, Lim Ji-yeon is illustrating the role of Jung Yoon-sun. However, it is unclear if she is a friend or a foe to Ha Soo-young.

According to an SBS News report on August 1, the movie distributor Plus M Entertainment has revealed the countries that will see the action film on the big screen. They stated:

“Revolver has been sold to 172 countries, including major Asian countries such as Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, India, and Mongolia, as well as North America, South America, France, Germany, Poland, Russia, and the Middle East.”

Plus M Entertainment confirmed the release date of Jeon Do-yeon, Ji Chang-wook, and Lim Ji-yeon's highly anticipated film Revolver, to be Wednesday, August 7, 2024. Release Dates in other countries have not yet been disclosed.

The film has been garnering attention from netizens and genre fans since it was in the production stage. It was due to the reunion of Director Oh Seung-uk and the production company Sanai Pictures. Oh Seung-uk is known for his script writing and remarkable direction in the film The Shameless.

According to SBS News, Purple Plan who are in charge of the film's distribution in Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia has opened up about the anticipation of the film in the region. They said:

“This is a film that is highly anticipated to see what kind of ensemble the characters caught up in the chaos will form and focused on the tension and conflict between the characters that 'Revolver' will convey.”

Plaion Pictures who will be distributing the film in Germany have given exciting reviews about the upcoming action film. They said:

“Revolver', which stars Jeon Do-yeon and master director Oh Seung-wook, is an unstoppable female crime film that is reminiscent of numerous 90s Hong Kong action thrillers as well as director Park Chan-wook's revenge trilogy.”

Meanwhile, fans are also paying attention to the performances of the star cast including Jeon Do-yeon who was previously seen in the action film Kill Boksoon, Ji Chang-wook known for his action dramas The K2, TheWorst of Evil, and more. Lim Ji-yeon has joined the two who appeared in the role of an antagonist in The Glory.


Revolver VIP premiere in Seoul

On Wednesday, July 31, Revolver held its VIP premiere at Megabox COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul attended by well-known Korean celebrities. BLACKPINK's Jennie and Bae Suzy were seen together at the VIP screening creating a huge buzz online among common fans of the two stars.

Moreover, actors like Kim Soo-hyun, Hong Kyung, Choi Tae-joon, Ahn Bo-hyun, Lee Soo-hyuk, Nam Ji-hyun, and Kim So-hyun were also seen at the screening.
