BTS' RM's new music video for LOST! received a screening at the 71st Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, held in Cannes, France. The track is from RM's latest solo studio album, his second thus far, Right Place, Wrong Person, which came out on May 24, 2024.
The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity celebrates creative genius in the advertising and communications industry. Famous for being a hub of global-level networking and learning, the Festival aims to assemble visionary thinkers, ideas from innovative international organizations, and inspiration from across the creative marketing community. This year, the festival is being held from June 17 to 21.
On June 20, Aube Perrie, the director of the video, shared a photo of the screening alongside a reel featuring a montage of his directorial projects, via his Instagram stories. Pulse Films on Instagram also revealed the selection of the director for Saatchi & Saatchi's New Creators Showcase at the 2024 Cannes Lions.
RM's LOST! MV has been gaining acclaim from viewers and fans worldwide who praise its narrative, and say it offers a view inside the artist's psyche where he is lost in a maze, against a TV show backdrop.
Reacting to the news, a fan stated,

The BTS leader's Right Place, Wrong Person boasts 11 songs, featuring renowned names like British rapper Little Simz, the jazz duo DOMi & JD BECK, and American singer-songwriter Moses Sumney. LOST! at present has racked up 9.3 million YouTube views in 3 weeks, along with 1.2 million likes. Billboard listed the project among the best albums of 2024 thus far in its article "The 50 Best Albums of 2024 (So Far): Staff List."
The article praised the BTS member for the palette of genres explored in the studio album, from hip-hop to punk to jazz to R&B, and Fela Kuti-styled Afrobeats, dubbing it,
"one of the richest albums released in 2024."
The song Groin from the album debuted at #2 on Billboard's World Digital Song Sales chart as of June 4, 2024, while his Nuts clinched #1 on the list, becoming his fifth song to do so. #3 was also RM's Domodachi, making him the second K-pop soloist to have the top three positions at the same time on the Chart multiple times.
Aube Perrie, who has worked with names like Harry Styles, Megan Thee Stallion, The Hives, and more, rendered RM's LOST! under the creative direction of Balming Tiger's San Yawn.
Perrie used filming techniques like the dynamic "Hamster Wheel" set, Escher-esque floating sets, Claymation and kinetic typography, and more.
In other news, BTS' RM took a leave from his military service to celebrate BTS member Jin's discharge from the military with fellow group mates on June 12.
