On October 5, 2024, Lee Yong-hyeon, aka eAeon, praised BTS' Kim Namjoon's songwriting style during an interview with View Of The Art (VOA). The Bye Bye singer-songwriter shared how the BTS leader's writing method is "deeply layered."

For the unversed, Lee Yong-hyeon and Namjoon have collaborated on songs such as badbye (2018) and Don't (2021). During the conversation, eAeon noted that after the release of Don't, he gained international fans due to BTS' Namjoon, aka RM. The singer shared:

"After the success of Don’t, some things did change. For instance, I gained international fans who now enjoy my music(...). Yes, RM definitely helped bring attention to the song, but I also believe this collaboration was possible because of the musical journey I’ve been on and the kind of music I’ve created over the years, and RM found interest in it."

Lee Yong-hyeon continued that often people expect superficial lyrics from K-pop idols because of stereotypes surrounding idol groups. He highlighted that Kim Namjoon has a different approach to songwriting and composing. eAeon added that the humming and the outro in Don't were RM's ideas, and Namjoon sent him over 10 demos. He added:

"I think RM is one of the best top-tier lyricists. RM is a rapper and an idol, but his writing is deeply layered. There was a point of convergence in what we both brought to the table. I didn’t give him any specific direction or restrictions, and what he delivered was fantastic. The creative process went smoothly, and overall, it was an incredible collaboration (Don’t)."

eAeon shares he created album Fragile while battling panic disorder

Lee Yong-hyeon, also known as eAeon, suffered from panic disorder in 2021 after believing he had suffered a heart attack. The musician believed that he would never be able to return to his former self when the doctor diagnosed him with a panic attack.

During this time, he found inspiration in a song, A Beautiful Mind, which helped him overcome his hardship. He created Fragile, where he penned down his struggles into song lyrics. The artist continued:

"Some of the songs reflect the state of mind I was in at that time, as I sought to express my experiences and the challenges I faced. I often found myself pondering how to articulate what I was going through and how to convey that I felt like this “weird” person. How does one live with the awareness of their own fragility? That struggle is captured in several of my lyrics."

Don't, featuring BTS' Namjoon, was released in May 2021 as a part of eAeon's album, Fragile. The BTS leader took to X and posted on the official account of BTS (@BTS_twt), sharing how much he loved and respected the South Korean veteran musician, eAeon.

In other news, BTS' Namjoon enlisted in the South Korean military to serve his mandatory service of 18 months on December 11, 2023. The idol is scheduled to be discharged in June 2025, when he will return along with his bandmates Jungkook, Jimin, Suga, and Taehyung.
