In an interview with ELLE KOREA on November 11, Go Youn-jung spoke about her work in Can Love Be Translated. The show, which is to be released next year, is the first romantic comedy that Youn-jung is starring in. While talking about getting along with her co-stars in Can Love Be Translated, she said:

"Romantic comedy was a genre that felt quite distant to me. Romance flows and immerses you according to the character’s emotional expression or ups and downs, so I was worried about whether I could delicately express that part."

Starring Kim Seon-ho, Go Youn-jung, Sota Fukushi, Lee Edam, and Choi Woo-sung, Can Love Be Translated is crafted by the renowned Hong Sisters, famous for hit dramas such as Hotel Del Luna, Alchemy of Souls, and Master's Sun, with Yoo Young-eun, known for Bloody Heart, directing it.

Go Youn-jung talk about Chanel, Blue Dragon Awards and more

In her ELLE Korea interview, Go Youn-jung opened up about the impact of fashion, especially Chanel, on her confidence. She revealed that wearing Chanel brought her a sense of “free elegance” that enhanced her presence while acting.

Embracing winter in her own way, she kept warm with a blanket and treated herself to bungeoppang, a Korean pastry.

Reflecting on her 2023 achievements, Youn-jung highlighted her Best New Actress award at the Blue Dragon Series Awards for Moving, calling it a special moment shared with her co-stars Ryu Seung-ryong and Kwak Sun-young.

Despite their limited screen time together, she felt a strong bond with her on-screen parents, making the honor even more meaningful.

Go Youn-jung said she finds joy in the camaraderie on set, which keeps her energized even during demanding shoots. Having worked on Law School, Hwanhon, Hunt, and Moving, she treasures the warmth and support of her colleagues.

As she prepares for Can Love Be Translated, Youn-jung looks forward to exploring the romantic comedy genre, eager to bring out its emotional nuances.

"This work includes romance, of course, but also other genre elements, so I’m having a lot of conversations with the director and writer and working hard on filming," she said, talking about her upcoming drama.

More about Go Youn-jung and her upcoming project

Go Yoon-jung began her acting career with the television series He Is Psychometric and later gained attention for her supporting role in the Netflix production Sweet Home.

She has since become well-known for her roles in Law School, Alchemy of Souls, Moving, and Death's Game, as well as the film Hunt.

She earned second place as the "Best Rising Star in Movies of the Year" for her role in Hunt, receiving 30 votes in a JoyNews 24 survey. This recognition solidified her status as a proud "Blue Chip" in Chungmuro.

Her upcoming project, Can Love Be Translated, explores the story of a man who works as an interpreter and an actress who has an entirely different "love language."

Their contrasting ways of expressing love lead to frequent misunderstandings and frustrations, as their intentions often get lost in translation.
