On August 13, 2024, BTS member Kim Seok-jin finally debuted his eagerly awaited reality series, RUN JIN. The program included his ascent of Mt. Hallasan, a striking shield volcano in Jeju Island known for its demanding paths and stunning vistas. The episode captured the idol's hiking journey which took him 7 hours and 30 minutes in a round trip.
Fans will get to know the BTS idol more through RUN JIN as he sets out on new experiences after leaving the military. He started his morning at 5.50 AM, setting out for his journey. After Jin started his ascent, he was given a mission by the filming crew.
As per his mission, if the BTS idol can make five strangers congratulate him for his military discharge then the crew would provide him with lunch. He came across several other hikers and kept asking them to congratulate him for completing his mandatory military service. The BTS idol's comic sense added the much-needed humor quotient to the reality show.

The Tonight singer-songwriter hiked for 4 km before pausing to rest for a bit. The crew asked him to call someone and make them answer his current location to win a cup of coffee. However, the BTS idol couldn't use the words "Jeju," "Today," and "Mountain." The musician rang up celebrity chef Baek Jong-won (aka chef Paik) and quizzed him.
Ultimately, Chef Baek Jong-won gave the right answer that Jin was at Hallasan Mountain on Jeju Island. The crew again quizzes him to choose from tumblers A and B to get his coffee.
The singer hilariously picks tumbler B, stating that he has known his crew for over a decade and has gained experience through Run BTS! episodes. He ends up selecting the wrong one and gets Jujuba Tea instead.
Later, he came across two kids, who gave him chocolates as presents. The Tonight singer-songwriter gave them his bread and juice box in return and hilariously mentioned that it was the last bit of food he had with him.
Episode 1 of RUN JIN ended with the idol completing his long and arduous hike and earning his certificate for successfully completing the journey. The crew treated him to a nice meal and asked Jin who he would want to recommend this adventure. The BTS idol said that he would suggest Jungkook go on this hike although he would not accompany the latter.
Episode 2 of RUN JIN preview was aired at the end of episode 1 and hinted at a special guest appearance. Jin would be seen visiting his alma mater and playing games with the school students. The upcoming episode promises tons of hilarious moments. Episode 2 will be aired on August 20 on BANGTANTV.
