Ryu Hye-young and Nam Yoon-soo have been confirmed to lead the upcoming thriller film Killing Time, as reported by Naver. The project is helmed by Jang Joon-yeop, who is known for directing short films such as Prisad, Missing, and Like. His previous film Bomigado was invited to the 19th Jeonju International Film Festival.
Killing Time is co-produced and distributed by Studio Santa Claus Entertainment. The production company has worked on projects like Will You Get Married? and Ameba Girls and School Ghost Stories: School Anniversary.
Perfect Storm Films will also serve as producer for Killing Time. This studio is recognized for Suriname and Hijacking. Nam Yoon-soo-starrer movie is slated to be released in 2025. According to production team, the filming commenced on October 18, 2024.
Killing Time: Plot and cast
The South Korean movie centers on a popular internet show called "Killing Time," known for its provocative content. During a live internet broadcast, a team member mysteriously dies, shocking the audience as they witness the incident in real time. This triggers a series of intense and unforeseen events, leading to a dangerous decision aimed at reclaiming success.
Ryu Hye-young plays Yeon-woo, an aspiring actress who joins the show and experiences a shift in her psychological state, growing desensitized under public scrutiny. Later, she gets traumatized by the accident.
Meanwhile, actor Nam Yoon-soo portrays Joo-won, the program’s producer. He is driven by the show’s success.
The cast of Killing Time includes emerging talent like Kim Seung-hee, Bae Myung-jin, Lee Kyu-hyun, Ji Soo-yeon, and Oh Min-soo.

Nam Yoon-soo began his career as a model in 2014 and transitioned to acting through music videos in 2014 and 2015. His official acting debut came in 2018 with MBC Every 1’s drama 4 Kinds of House.
Yoon-soo also stars as Go-Young in Love in the Big City, a South Korean Boys’ Love (BL) and LGBTQ-themed series. His role follows the decade-long journey of a young gay man, navigating love and life’s challenges in a conservative society while aspiring to succeed as a writer.
Ryu Hye-young, on the other hand, is widely recognized for her performances in the hit series like Reply 1988 and Law School. She began acting in 2007 with the short film High School Girls. Ryu has received numerous accolades, including the Rising Artist Award at the 10th Korean Cable TV Awards for Reply 1988 and the Special Popularity Award at the 21st Chunsa Film Art Awards.
Ryu Hye-young will also be seen in the much-anticipated drama Nice Guy alongside Lee Dong-wook. This series follows Seok Chul, the eldest grandson in a family spanning three generations of troublemakers, as he faces ups and downs to protect his family, career, and love.
