BTS was mentioned in the legendary boy band tribute video of the 2024 AMAs creating a huge buzz online. On October 7, 2024, the American Music Awards dropped a special tribute video acknowledging some of the iconic boy bands as they marked their 50th season in 2024.
BTS was the first boy group mentioned in the video garnering attention from fans all across the globe. 7 years ago, the BIGHIT boy group made their US stage debut with their song DNA at the American Music Awards as the first K-pop group to perform at the award ceremony. In 2024, they were recognized as one of the notable boy bands to have a significant impact on the audiences by the AMAs. Meanwhile, they were also the only Asian and K-pop group to make it to the tribute video.
Fans online celebrated this moment as they traced back the Butter singer's musical journey and expressed their pride over being mentioned alongside some big names in the western music scene like NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, Boyz II Men, New Edition, New Kids on the Block, and One Direction.
They took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to share their thoughts about AMA's legendary boy band tribute video.

Netizens shared similar sentiments over the mention of the K-pop group in the AMA legendary band's tribute video.

About BTS’ accolades at the American Music Awards throughout the years
BTS has received several awards at the American Music Awards since 2018 when they received the Favorite Social Artist award. The K-pop group has won the Favorite Duo or Group award four times, the highest in the category at the AMAs.
They are also the ninth most awarded artist with a total of eleven American Music Awards in their career. The group wrote history as the first K-pop boy band to receive Artist of the Year in 2021 beating Taylor Swift, Drake, Ariana Grande, Olivia Rodrigo, and The Weeknd.

Currently, the BTS members RM, Suga, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are fulfilling their national duties in the military. Jin concluded his services in June 2024, while j-hope is expected to be discharged in October 2024. All the group members are expected to reunite in 2025.
