On September 17, 2024, BTS' Jung Ho-seok, also known as J-hope, took to Weverse to update fans on his current military service status and wish everyone a Happy Chuseok. With just a month left before his military discharge, the idol shared his thoughts and feelings in a heartfelt letter, reflecting on his time in the military and what it means to him as his service comes to an end.

Having enlisted in April 2023, the rapper and dancer expressed that now, with exactly 30 days remaining, he has developed a sense of attachment to his experience. He mentioned that sorting through his belongings and passing down his favorite items to his successors had given him a newfound strength and sense of sentimentality.

"A month. Exactly 30 days! Time originally only felt cruel but now i've started to grow fond of it that now it feels affectionate. I organized my stuff, and i’ve handed out the items i that i used well to my successors. And now seeing the empty locker/storage, it feels like my feelings are growing even deeper," his letter, as translated by X user @miiniyoongs read.

Alongside the letter, J-hope shared a mirror selfie, dressed in a black Republic of Korea Army (R.O.K.A) shirt and military pants, with his jacket draped over one arm. Fans quickly took to social media to express their excitement, eagerly counting down to his discharge date set for October 17, 2024. A user on X, @KookiesFIower wrote,

"SEE YOU NEXT MONTH!! ALEXA PLAY ONLY THE STRONG SURVIVE BY MCFLY. The worst is over and the sky is clear. And there's not a place on earth I'd rather be than hereeee."

"I hope fall arrives soon"— J-hope reflects on military life and sends Chuseok wishes in his latest Weverse letter

In his latest Weverse letter, J-hope opened up about his feelings of nervousness and anxiety, questioning why he had been so worried in the beginning when, in hindsight, there was little to stress about.

J-hope humorously recalled how even the simple sound of a locker opening would make him tense in his early days of service. He expressed pride in how far he's come and shared that he is now able to enjoy moments of rest, especially during the holidays.

Writing his message during Chuseok, J-hope wished his fans a happy and prosperous 'Hangawi.' He noted the significance of this particular day, as it also marked exactly 30 days until his military discharge.

"That's why I came to say hello to you during Chuseok. But coincidentally, today is exactly 30 days left," his letter read.

As he looked forward to the fall season, the rapper expressed his wish for the autumn leaves to symbolize peace and relaxation in his mind. He ended his letter by reminding fans to take care of themselves.

J-hope served as a drill instructor in the military and is scheduled to be discharged on October 17, 2024.
