“Serving all the bread crumbs”- Fans react as BLACKPINK's Rosé shares how Bruno Mars convinced her to kiss in ‘APT.’ MV

On Sunday, December 1, the official channel of JTBC Newsroom posted an in-depth exclusive interview with BLACKPINK's Rosé. In this fifty-two-minute-long episode, the K-pop artist discussed her newly released song APT., created in partnership with American superstar Bruno Mars, among other things.

APT. originally came out on October 18, 2024, as the pre-release song for the female idol’s upcoming solo record, rosie.

During the conversation, BLACKPINK's Rosé was inquired about the kiss moment in APT. The pop star then elaborated on the story behind her kiss moment seen in the music video. She specified that the idea came from Bruno. The male singer asserted that it would be weird for him to kiss her, which convinced Rosé to kiss him. Therefore, Rosé agreed, laughing at the situation.

"He is like, 'why do I have to do it?' and it's even stranger when he does it. Oh, I think that would be a little weird," the idol shared.

BLACKPINK's Rosé’s followers seemed excited about the backstory of APT. as well as the bond shared by the two artists. As a result, her fans flooded the internet with their reactions to it. Echoing this sentiment, one user on X commented:

BLACKPINK's Rosé discusses working with Bruno Mars on APT. despite advice against it

In the interview, BLACKPINK's Rosé also commented on how Bruno Mars came together with her on APT. She disclosed that she was the only one who was certain that Bruno would pick APT.

The K-pop idol also revealed that although some on her team disagreed with her choice of sending him APT. among other songs, she couldn't comprehend why she was so convinced he would choose it.

Others disagreed with her concept and advised her not to forward it, but Rosé had confidence in herself therefore she secretly switched the song at the last second, right before sending it to Bruno. She went on to explain that Bruno preferred APT. since it's unique and fun.

During the interaction, Rosé expressed that partnering with Bruno Mars was thrilling and that he significantly inspired and motivated her. Rosé revealed that when she informed Bruno of her plan to be interviewed on the news, he asked her to say, “Bruno Mars is the best.” As a result, BLACKPINK's Rosé thanked Bruno Mars throughout the interview.
