SEVENTEEN member Jeonghan has reportedly enlisted in the military as a social service worker in an alternative position. On Thursday, September 26, K-pop idol Yoon Jeong-han, known by his mononymous stage name Jeonghan, was enlisted in the military to fulfill his national duties, becoming the first member of the K-pop boy group to commence his services.
In the South Korean military system, every able-bodied man over the age of 18 is mandated to serve in the Air Force, naval force, or the Army for 18 to 21 months. However, men with physical disabilities and mental health issues may serve in the military through an alternative service in different areas like post offices, welfare centers, community service organizations, and many more as social service personnel.
According to Star News, a South Korean media agency, Jeonghan will reportedly complete his military duties as a social worker.
However, the reason behind his reported military position has not been disclosed to the public by his management agency PLEDIS Entertainment.
