On December 3, BLACKPINK's Rosé performed Wham’s popular song, Last Christmas, at the BBC Radio 1’s Christmas Live Lounge. In addition to this holiday song, Rosé also sang her recently debuted track APT., which was made in collaboration with American singer-songwriter Bruno Mars.

BLACKPINK's Rosé’s performance on Wham!’s Last Christmas garnered much attention from the viewers. Netizens flooded the internet with contrasting responses to Rosé's performance.

“She is not hitting a single note lol,” an X user commented.

Many mixed responses to BLACKPINK's Rosé’s performance were seen on the internet. While some criticized her singing, others backed the female idol, claiming that she had a throat condition that appeared during her performance.

“we've left this type of singing in 2018 omg she needs a vocal coach fast!,” an X user wrote.
“it's clear that her throat's not fine. she probably has a cold or something. THIS IS ROSÉ, UR NOT FOOLING ANYONE INTO THINKING SHE CAN'T SING,” another supporter remarked.
“rose is the best vocalist of bp and she’s the best someone in bp could sound while singing live, if you think she’s that bad then others are even worse,” stated another fan.
“I think she sang in her own way, and that's what makes her unique,” commented a follower.

Netizens also noted that BLACKPINK's Rosé’s cursive voice wasn’t suitable for the Christmas song. Another X user commented that female idol seemingly lacked rehearsals and discussions before their performance.

“some people should not be singers,” a netizen criticized.
“Idk i think she doesnt sound that bad but it clearly sounds like she perhaps didnt do any rehearsals or discussions with the band bc shes singing it VERY emotionally whilst the band is cheery so it kinda sounds bad, theyre clashing,” stated another user on X.
“Tone down the cursive voice and it will sound decent or choose a song that will compliment her voice,” stated a netizen.
“Idk it’s not that bad actually. I mean i know someone that sang worse. But i think her voice doesn’t fit this song. Her vocal color and singing technique only fits certain songs i think,” wrote another X user.
