On October 28, 2024, American singer ØHENRY came forward to defend South Korean rapper Jessi amidst her ongoing alleged fan assault controversy. The Steal My Love singer stated that he was with Jessi when the incident occurred on the night of September 29, 2024. In a publicly available CCTV clip, a male fan requested Jessi for a picture when she was with her friends, which she declined.
Recalling the incident, ØHENRY wrote on his Instagram story that he was invited to Courte Cafe in Gangnam, which could be seen in the particular CCTV clip. The singer explained how he was with his friends and met the Cold Blooded rapper with her associates.
ØHENRY elaborated that once the pub was closed, they all decided to grab a meal together somewhere else. Several fans of Jessi approached her for a selfie, which she humbly obliged. ØHENRY added that he and Jessi were sober while some of their friends were intoxicated as they had alcohol before leaving the club.
He added that "she didn't do anything wrong" and stated that she couldn't have physically stopped the assault.
"We sat across from a 7-Eleven until one of our friends found the rest of the group," ØHENRY wrote.
ØHENRY asserted that he witnessed the incident firsthand and saw a male fan approach the South Korean rapper. Jessi refused the request for a photo. ØHENRY revealed that the fan kept asking her for a picture and would not give up.
However, suddenly a man—whom they both met that evening—came forward and hit the fan. Jessi tried to stop the man from hitting the fan but she failed.
"I put this on everything I love; she did nothing wrong! I was there and saw everything firsthand. How can she control a crazy a*s grown man she doesn’t even know. Yall have to stop with this narrative like shes a bad person. Its really manipulation," ØHENRY wrote while vouching for Jessi.
