Korean singer BIBI also known as Kim Hyeong-seo started live streaming on Instagram while martial law was imposed on South Korea, gathering attention online. On Thursday, December 4, President Yoon Seok-yul declared martial law in the country through a sudden emergency briefing.

As per The Korea Times, no journalists were allowed to enter the briefing room and around 10:24 pm KST, in a five-minute announcement, the President declared the emergency martial law enforcement.

“Dear citizens, I am proclaiming martial law to shield the Republic of Korea from the threats posed by North Korea's communist forces and to eradicate the shameless pro-North, anti-state factions that are undermining our people's freedom and happiness. This is to safeguard the constitutional order of our nation," he said.

As per the law, public gatherings, protests, and news publishing by media outlets were subjected to be under the military’s authority. However, a few hours later netizens who followed her received live streaming notifications, which surprised many of them due to the timing and the given situation of the country. Fans joined the live to learn why the singer had started a session and she was seemingly unaware of the martial law enforcement.

Fans advised BIBI to check the latest news and pointed out that it wasn't the right time for her live session. She was with an alleged acquaintance, and upon learning about the situation, BIBI quickly ended the stream. Concerned fans took to social media to express their worries about the singer.

"She probably freaked out when she realised bless her," a fan said.
“not surprised that she didn't know everything happened so fast.”- a fan added.
“Went live for about a minute and then once she saw all the comments saying "go watch the news" her friend searched it up, her face completely dropped and then the live ended.”- a user stated.

Notably, the martial law was lifted by the president six hours after the announcement. However, Fans continued to showcase their worries about the singer online.

“bless the fans that warned bibi and told her to check the news and end the live bcs it would have been rlly bad for her.”- a user commented.
“The fact many people didn’t know what was happening pls.. bibi started an ig live and only found out what was happening because fans were commenting ‘look at the news’ and she ended the live.”- another user commented.
“I watched her live yesterday too. It seemed like unnie had just woken up and had no idea abt what was going on.”- a fan reacted.
