On July 8, 2024, BLACKPINK idol and CEO of Oddatelier, Jennie Kim, went viral online for a clip from her YouTube vlog, A Moment in Capri with Jennie. The South Korean rapper was allegedly seen vaping in the snippet while she was getting her makeup and hair done. For the unversed, a vape is a battery-operated electronic cigarette.

Netizens noted that the Solo rapper was holding an elongated black-colored device from which she allegedly took puffs before blowing the smoke out. The clip originally began at 5 minutes, 4 seconds. However, the video was altered by the idol's crew as soon as it went viral online.

Meanwhile, the commotion resulted in a debate among the online users. Some highlighted that she's an independent adult and could live life as she chooses. One X user wrote,

The debate intensified as several netizens joined in the discussion with divided opinions. Some fans underscored that the alleged vape could be a vitamin diffuser that is used to calm nerves and relieve stress.

The video showed candid moments from the Korean idol's time in Capri, Italy, when she walked on the runaway for Jacquemus’s 15th-anniversary show, LA CASA, on June 10, 2024.
