Recently, NCTzens began to trend several hashtags on X, pointing out the lack of solo opportunities and the alleged mistreatment of NCT's Johnny. Fans pointed out that the idol holds a long list of skills in positions like DJ, songwriter, producer, rapper, entertainer, actor, and more. However, despite his diverse skillset, fans believe the idol has not been given the opportunities to shine outside NCT.
While fans appreciate and believe that the idol is an integral part of NCT's two primary units, NCT 127 and NCT U, fans also argue that solo activities are important for the idol to create a career for himself. Additionally, fans are aware of the idol's renowned YouTube content, Johnnny's Communication Centre, and his other ventures in the fashion industry.
However, fans also stated that these might be self-managed and could've evolved from his efforts. Therefore, to advocate for increased opportunities for NCT's Johnny from SM Entertainment, the idol's agency. To garner more eyes on the issue and also gain the attention of SM Entertainment's attention to fans' demands, NCTzens began to trend hashtags on X regarding the same.
Here's how fans reacted to the same:
"Weird how @SMTOWNGLOBAL keeps ignoring the fact that JOHNNY has so many talents to be show off. the agency NEVER shows any supports towards his solo schedules; neither giving him any schedule when he has so many things to explore with his talents. #SMTreatsJohnnybetter"
"This man has so much to offer the world. I’ve been a fan for 8 years and I just know he has so much he can do if they just utilize him to his fullest potential. Come on @SMTOWNGLOBAL I know you can do it!" - said a fan on X
"Johnny rarely has any schedules outside of NCT 127. Despite limited chances, he always shines. We demand that SM provide a better plan for Johnny's solo career, giving him the opportunities he rightfully deserves." - said a netizen on X
More NCTzens advocated for more solo activities and opportunities for NCT's Johnny and also called out the alleged incompetence of SM Entertainment.
"He is such a humble and talented man. And incredibly nice and so many reference him and the first friendly face they met at sm. He deserves his own solo. There is so many things you can do! Literally he can be the next tiesto or Morgan page of Korea! The possibilities are endless!" - a fan on X stated
"As far as I remember the agency didnt even post any schedule on the sm calendar for the first DJ gig schedule in Jakarta and Bali (which is cancelled in the end bc of his accident), showing that there is only a LITTLE support for his solo DJ works." - added another netizen
"If Johnny was able to get more time to shine, everybody would be able to see how talented he is." - stated another X user
