On Friday, June 28, BTS' Jimin released the pre-release single, Smeraldo Garden Marching Band, of his upcoming second album, MUSE. The song, which features the South Korean rapper, Loco, immediately blew up on the internet and caught the attention of ARMYs for its heartwarming lyrics. Fans praised the idol for the song's vocals, choreography, music video aesthetics, and more.

However, they were most impressed with the mention of BTS and ARMY in the track's lyrics. At one point the idol talks about how it all began on June 12, which marks the date of BTS' debut showcase with their debut track, No More Dream. Therefore, fans were touched to see that the idol referenced BTS and ARMYs even in solo tracks:

"It all began on June 12. We gift happiness every day."

Additionally, fans also noticed that BTS' Jimin rolled out BTS' introduction hand sign while singing these lyrics, which made fans all the more emotional. Here's how fans reacted to the same:

"The way jimin did the bangtan hand gesture while singing “it all began on June 12,”" said a fan on X.
"That being the first lines of the song jimin is truly purple coded through and through," added another fan on X.
"We all know how significant is June 13 for both bangtan and army. But instead Jimin mentioned June 12, the very first time they saw army. As always, it's once again proved thru this comeback how much Jimin and bts love us," said a netizen.

More fans expressed how they were left in tears on the idol's mention of the group's debut showcase, the first time the ARMYs and BTS officially met.

"ok cry with me but I’m just imagining when bts are all back together and when they perform their solo songs in concert, the other members are gonna have the biggest smiles on their faces watching backstage like imagine the members’ faces when jimin sings “it all began on june 12” ," said a fan on X.
"I didn’t realize this song was about apobangpo," added another fan.
"SGMB is an army song im not strong enough for this," said another X user.

BigHit Music reveals the inspiration and meaning behind Jimin's Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (ft. Loco)

Following the release of the BTS Jimin's pre-release single of his second album, MUSE, fans were naturally curious to learn about the meaning and inspiration behind the track.

Soon enough, on June 28, the idol's agency, BigHit Music released a statement explaining the several aspects of the track.

The statement explained that the song was closely inspired by The Beatles' 1967 album, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club. The song blends hip-hop elements through the implementation of a large-scale orchestra. The production of the track, BigHit Music explained, was collaboratively done with Pdogg, GHSTLOOP, and EVAN.

The agency also stated that this group of collaborators slowly began to refer to themselves as the Smeraldo Garden Marching Band, which later became the song's title. Here's more information regarding the track's meaning:

"Referencing the fictional flower Smeraldo, which symbolizes 'the truth untold' the lyrics tenderly express the longing to confess and find love on behalf of those unable to articulate their feelings. This theme connects to the legend of 'Smeraldo' references in "The Truth Untold (ft. Steve Aoki)" from BTS' LOVE YOURSELF Tear album."

The statement, then, continued to talk about the artists in the track and their contribution to its feel.

"Jimin's soft, sentimental vocals enhance the heartfelt nature of the lyrics, while the energetic yet intricate rap of the featured artist, South Korean rapper Loco, creates a unique synergy between them, further amplifying the track's charm."

Smeraldo Garden Marching Band has been the talk of the town and fans can barely wait to hear the rest of the idol's album, MUSE, which is slated for release on July 19.
