BTS’ reported plans have allegedly excluded Jungkook and Taehyung and it has garnered criticism from fans online. On January 2, 2025, Asia Economy, a South Korean media agency, published an article on expected K-pop comeback plans and new groups’ debuts, including BLACKPINK, SEVENTEEN, aespa, and JYP Entertainment’s upcoming group KickFlip, and more.
As per the reports, the Dynamite singers are reportedly planning to release an album this year which will be followed by a tour after the remaining members are discharged from the military. The tour reportedly is set to commemorate the group’s popular album series', ‘The Most Beautiful Moments in Life,’ 10th release anniversary.
However, fans of the BIGHIT MUSIC boy group noticed that the names of two maknaes, including Jungkook and Taehyung, were left out from their comeback plans. This has outraged many fans as it has created a confusion whether the two will continue group activities with the rest of the members. They further criticized the author of the article allegedly publishing misinformation.
“So, from 2025 BTS is not 7?”- a fan said.
“THIS IS INTERESTING.. NO JUNGKOOK AND TAEHYUNG.?”- a user wrote.
“hype this article while two members are missing (taehyung and jungkook) well bts is not 7 anymore?”- another user wrote.
However, some fans believed that the names of the members who are yet to be discharged were mentioned wrong since Jin and J-Hope concluded their military duties in 2024.
“They obviously wrote names wrong bc jin and j hope is already out.”- a fan mentioned.
“Interesting how they used ot7 pic but tae's and jk's names are missing in the article.”- a user commented.
“The article had the names wrong. They should've named the members still enlisted, but they put jin and hobi instead of tae and jk.”- another user commented.
Fans of Jungkook and V expressed their disappointment in BIGHIT MUSIC and in the rest of the fandom for circulating the news online. Notably, the comeback album and tour have not been confirmed by the agency yet.
“This article is blatantly excluding taehyung and jungkook and instead of calling them out armys are hyping it i hope this means their freedom since this fandom doesn't care about them.”- a fan stated.
“I see the name of BT5 but the 2 youngest names are omitted. Please explain how BTS is gonna do a full come back in June 2025, but Taekook names are nowhere to be found in this article which is very sus.”- a user mentioned.
“Of course some members haven't renewed the contract. The company is lying to not lose the investors obviously and to keep milking the cult fads dry before announcing the disbandment news. There will be a comeback and a tour, that's a sure thing, but after that?”- a fan added.
