On October 23, 2024, BTS' j-hope became the first pitcher for Game 2 of the Korean Series Game. This ceremonial first pitch marked the BTS member’s first official appearance following his military discharge on October 17.
For the event, the Blue Side vocalist wore a navy bomber jacket and easy-fitting pants paired with a grey hoodie on the inside. He also carried a navy cap and brown sneakers.
Fans admired BTS' j-hope’s whole look, but the customized purple accents on his baseball glove and socks stood out and caught their attention. BTS' j-hope shared his thoughts on throwing out the first pitch at the 2024 Korea Series Game
BTS' j-hope threw his first pitch during the 2024 Korean Series baseball championship game between the Samsung Lions and the KIA Tigers. During his KBO Korean Series speech, Hobi expressed his happiness to be back after his military service, as well as his pride in throwing his first pitch in such a meaningful place:
“It's my first schedule as soon as I'm discharged from the military, and I'm proud to throw the first pitch in a meaningful place, and I'm also very happy to be back in my hometown after a long time. KBO Korean Series, fighting!”
On October 17, 2024, BTS' j-hope became the second member of the septet to finish his military service after Kim Seokjin, aka Jin. Earlier, on June 12, Jin was discharged following the completion of his mandatory military term.
The remaining five members of BTS are currently serving their terms. Therefore, the group is expected to reunite in the second half of 2025 following their military discharge.
