On Wednesday, August 14, BTS' Jungkook announced his first official documentary JUNG KOOK: I AM STILL on the group's socials. A video for the same showed the idol happily reminiscing about his past year, which was full of activities about creating his debut solo album GOLDEN and promoting it internationally to ARMY (BTS fans) on his journey to becoming a global pop artist.

It reflected his gratitude to his fans for their unwavering love and support on his solo journey and more. Here's what he said,

"Hello, it's Jungkook! How are ARMY doing? Starting with my first official solo track, "Seven (feat. Latto)" and throughout the promos for my studio album, GOLDEN, I had a year filled with golden moments of happiness [A year that shined like gold], thanks to all the love that you gave me."

He went on,

"Today, I'm here to share some really amazing news. with everyone. Announcing the premiere of my official documentary [The premiere of I AM STILL Jungkook's first official documentary]. For me, GOLDEN was a series of continuous new challenges, the long journey that led up to a long album filled with songs of diverse genres."

He concluded with,

"All the moments I connected with ARMY from all around the world through music, and the many behind-the-scenes stories that I didn't get a chance to share. It tells the full story of Jungkook as a solo artist. I hope you're looking forward to it! See you soon! Bye!"

Apart from this, premiere announcements were also made through unveiling the official poster for the documentary film, showcasing the BTS maknae in his GOLDEN era look. Meanwhile, the film will hit cinemas worldwide on September 18, with limited screenings. Naturally, fans are euphoric ever since the declaration, expressing their excitement on social media.

Global ticket sales will go live on August 21 (6 AM PDT/ 9 AM EDT/ 2 PM BST/ 8 PM ICT). Tickets for audiences in Korea will be available from September 4, while in Japan the sale will open on September 13. JUNG KOOK: I AM STILL is slated to release in Japan on October 4.

Talking about the Standing Next to You singer's love for ARMY, it further explained fans will get to see the "ever-growing artist" on his eight-month journey leading up to him becoming a worldwide pop icon. It will also include the preparatory process behind GOLDEN, his much-talked-about performances on global platforms as he promoted the album, and more.

At the same time, a website has been established for the project. It aims to help ARMY in keeping track of all details ahead of the film's release. A synopsis on the platform for the upcoming documentary begins with the line, "I just follow my own compass," which is going viral on social media. The rest reads,

"Jung Kook of BTS, the ‘21st Century Pop Artist,’ ascended to global stardom with his debut solo single ‘Seven (feat. Latto)’ in July 2023. Achieving unprecedented success, Jung Kook became the first Asian solo artist to top the Billboard HOT 100, Global 200, and Global 200 Excl. US charts."

It mentions more of the 26-year-old's accomplishments,

"His singles ‘Seven,’ ‘3D (feat. Jack Harlow),’ and ‘Standing Next to You’ all reached the top 10 of the Billboard HOT 100, making him the only K-pop solo artist to achieve this feat. His album ‘GOLDEN’ also made history by staying on the Billboard 200 for 24 consecutive weeks."

It continues that the film will showcase exclusive, unseen and behind-the-scenes footage, capturing the idol's unwavering dedication and growth.
