On September 6, 2024, BTS' Suga, also known as Agust D, built new records as his 2020 mixtape D-2 surpassed one billion streams on Spotify. Furthermore, his 2023 debut studio album D-DAY also reached the same milestone just a day prior.

Despite having no new releases in over a year, the idol made history with these feats, becoming the first and only Asian rapper with multiple albums crossing one billion Spotify streams. Additionally, his D-DAY was crowned the first Korean hip-hop/rap album to reach the one billion Spotify streams mark.

Naturally, no sooner had the news arrived than the ARMY (BTS fans) began showering the 31-year-old with appreciation all over social media. As they currently hope for Agust D's eponymous 2016 mixtape to reach the same goal streaming platform, the successes of his later releases are being much celebrated.

A user wrote on X,

"im so insanely proud of yoongi. he deserves all this and much more. what a man!"

With tags like 'AGUST D DYNASTY' and 'CONGRATULATIONS AGUST D' presently trending on X, fans made sure to express their love for the BTS member.

"i hope you can feel our love thru this, yoongi. we're here with you," a post read.
"YAS!!! Who's the king? Who's the boss?" one fan wrote.
"ORGANIC KING AGUSTD," claimed a netizen.

Many voiced how they've been waiting for this day,

"This is what I've been waiting for, a double billion stream on Spotify for #SUGA. #D-DAY and #D-2," an X-user commented.
"Finally omg im so happy," said another ARMY.

Some of the solo accomplishments of BTS' Suga

Released on May 22, 2020, Agust D's second mixtape D-2 contains 10 songs, with its title track being Daechwita. The lead song's video on YouTube went on to become the most viewed and liked music video by a K-soloist in 2020. For the album's tracks, he collaborated with BTS co-member RM, American singer-actor MAX, singer NiiHWA, and South Korean alt-rock band Nell's Kim Jong-wan.

It later became the first Korean album to clinch the No. 1 position on the Worldwide Apple Music Album chart in the year of release, while Agust D was recognized as the first male soloist to have an album and a song achieve 100 No. 1 spots on iTunes Worldwide.

Suga also became the first Korean soloist to have simultaneous chartings on both Billboard 200 and Hot 100. D-2 itself topped the Billboard Independent Albums Chart and the World Albums Chart. The album continues to reach greater heights and was followed by D-DAY's release on April 21, 2023.

Agust D's solo debut album, D-DAY, sold over one million copies on Hanteo in a single day, setting a new record for the highest first-day sales by a solo artist. Meanwhile, names like IU, BTS' j-hope, The Rose's Woosung, and legendary Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto were on board for its creation.

On May 2, 2023, D-DAY debuted at No. 2 on that week’s Billboard 200, matching Jimin's FACE as the highest-charting debut rank on the U.S. album chart. The album's lead song Haegeum further entered that week's Hot 100 at No. 58, marking Suga's fourth entry on the chart overall.

In early May last year, D-DAY also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Rap Albums chart, making Suga the first Asian Act to achieve this milestone as well as the first to have multiple Top 10 entries on the chart.

As of August 26, 2024, Agust D created history as the first and only Asian soloist to have three albums simultaneously charting in the Top 4 of the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart for two consecutive days, with D-DAY at No. 2, D-2 at No. 3, and AGUST D at No. 4.

BTS' Suga enlisted in the South Korean military for his mandatory 18-month service on September 22, 2023, and is set to be discharged on June 21 next year.
