More on BTS' Jimin reportedly becoming a Special Warrior

Becoming a Special Warrior in the South Korean army is not an easy feat for many. One has to undergo a grueling period of training before acquiring this respectable title in the military. According to user @marvellyjimin's post on X regarding the training process, a trainee has to shoot more than 18 shots out of 20 in 250-meter real-range shots (special shots) to qualify.

Furthermore, physical fitness also plays a key role in the evaluation process, where under 'Basic Physical Strength,' the soldier has to do more than 72 push-ups per 2 minutes, complete more than 86 upper-body lifts in 2 minutes, and run 3 kilometers in under 12 minutes and 30 seconds.

In 'Combat Strength,' one has to complete a rapid 10-kilometer march carrying a 25 kg load within 2 hours and 10 minutes and run 5 kilometers with a 15 kg load within 40 minutes. Additionally, one has to perform 20 repetitions of Leg Tucks, complete Battlefield Circular Movement in 2 minutes and 15 seconds, and finish a 240-meter Round Trip in 1 minute and 2 seconds.

At the same time, a soldier will also have to finish a 3-kilometer Mountain Hike within 15 minutes, achieve a score of 90 points or higher out of 100 in Mental Education (Mental Strength), and receive Tips for Guarding (Border). Each person's combat ability along with specific evaluations based on individual specialties or medical conditions under The Number of Fighter Jets is also noted.

Additionally, some units require further training in areas such as chemical defense, emergency law (e.g., Tactical Combat Casualty Care or TCCC, etc.), and grenade handling. Typically, scoring over 90 points out of 100 is necessary to pass.

To become a special warrior, one must complete all parts of this course. However, not every requirement is checked directly, and evaluations of combat strength can vary among many soldiers because it takes a lot of time to prepare and assess them.

Looking at the amount of hard work needed to attain the Special Warrior badge, it is noteworthy how Jimin of BTS excelled in all fields to reportedly gain the title.

In related news, pictures of BTS' Jimin and Jungkook with their military friends are also circulating on the internet, being praised for their camaraderie in the relatively new environment. The FACE singer reportedly also wrote a heartfelt goodbye letter on a fellow soldier's uniform at the time of the latter's discharge, where he thanked the soldier for having taken care of him since their first meeting.
