On Thursday, October 3, BTS' RM changed his Instagram profile picture to Dai Miyamoto playing saxophone—a character from 2023 anime Blue Giant. He also shared the image on his story. The latest update came ahead of j-hope’s military service discharge, which is scheduled for October 17.
Earlier this year, RM welcomed Kim Seokjin, aka Jin, as the latter completed his military service on June 12. The BTS leader played Dynamite on saxophone to give a heartwarming welcome to Jin.
Looking at his recent Instagram update, fans speculate that BTS' RM is prepared to greet j-hope with another saxophone performance. Consequently, RM's enthusiasts flooded the internet with their reactions on his profile image. Presenting their perspective, a user on X remarked:
"My man is so ready for hobi's return"
Many other mixed responses from the singer’s fans were recorded on the internet. One fan expressed confidence in RM's performance, while another X user noted that j-hope's discharge date is approaching.
“Namjoonie is getting ready to welcome Hobi home. D-14: Only 2 weeks left until Hobi is back! Can’t believe it! The end is finally in sight, I can see the sun and he’s shining so bright!” a fan wrote.
“This only means one thing he is gonna go and welcome hobi with the saxophone same way he did with jin,” an X user commented.
“I get you Namjoon. When you start getting into an instrument that becomes you're whole personality,” another fan remarked on X.
One fan suggested that BTS' RM would perform the group's songs Dynamite or Ego, while another internet user thought that j-hope, aka hobi, would get the best discharge with another saxophone show
“I love and miss him so much. Counting down the days until our precious leader is back home,” an admirer commented.
“Namjoon omg lmaooo hobi's gonna get the best discharge with another saxophone show,” a fan wrote.
“He's gonna play ego or dynamite again...oh he is so cute,” another fan expressed on X.
BTS' RM is likely to greet j-hope when the Jack In The Box singer completes his military service on October 17
BTS' j-hope reappeared on Instagram on October 2, generating considerable interest among followers. With merely 13 days till his military discharge on October 17, admirers were elated to see him return to social media, offering much-awaited updates. In the description of his post, he addressed his imminent discharge from the military, heightening the anticipation.
"It's October. It's made up of really pretty (even) pictures. I'll see you on deployment day then. Enjoy it"
BTS' RM is expected to welcome j-hope when he finishes his 18-month mandatory military service.
As of this writing, RM, aka Kim Nam-joon, is also serving his term in the South Korean army. The Wild Flower vocalist enlisted on December 11, 2023, and he is likely to be discharged sometime during June 2025.
