On September 10, 2024 (KST), BIGHIT MUSIC (now HYBE Labels) came under fire for uploading a wrong clip instead of BTS' Jungkook's preview from his upcoming documentary film, I AM STILL. Reportedly, the staff accidentally posted the clip of ENHYPEN's updated lightstick, revealing a spoiler. However, they took it down from social media platforms after 18 minutes.
Although ENHYPEN fans were stoked to see the spoiler for the rookie boy band's new lightstick design, the BTS ARMY found it unprofessional on the agency's part. ARMY lashed out at the agency for uploading a wrong clip, given that BTS is under BIGHIT MUSIC and ENHYPEN is under another HYBE subsidiary label, BELIFT LAB.
"BigHit posted Jung Kook's documentary trailer on BTS official Weibo acc, but mistakenly posted EN*YP*N's video, only to realize the mistake 18 minutes later then delete it, which was so unprofessional," an ARMY wrote on X.
Jungkook's fans were enraged to see BIGHIT MUSIC's folly, and their ire was heightened when the agency removed the video after what was purported to be an 18-minute delay. They criticized the label for their behavior.
"I understand making mistakes but why did it take them 18 MINUTES to notice…" one fan wrote.
"Something weird is going on. I notice that all these errors only happen for JK content? Why is that? Is there a separate team for Jungkook that is so incompetent they can't send out even one tweet without mistakes. Mind-boggling, considering this is a Billion dollar conglomerate!" another fan added.
"Does BigHit have their D-list team working for their A-list artist or are there deeper issues? Something is definitely wrong because these “mistakes” continue happening," one fan retorted.
Several ARMYs claimed that BIGHIT MUSIC couldn't promote the artist's solo activities without a mishap.
"I guess at least they freakn noticed the mistake and fixed it. What kind of people do they hire that can’t even do anything right for Jungkook??" one fan said.
"@bts_bighit, because doing something right when it comes to jungkook is so hard. We should throw a party when yall manage to be competent for once," another fan angrily remarked.
"Why do they always make mistakes with Jungkook?! Gosh his their biggest star and making mistakes all the time is just not acceptable," another fan added.
BTS' Jungkook's forthcoming documentary film preview got fans emotional and giddy with anticipation
In the latest preview clip uploaded on BTS' YouTube channel, BANGTANTV, Jungkook takes fans on a ride and gives them a closer peek at his journey as a solo artist. The documentary film, I AM STILL, is set to hit global theaters on September 18, 2024.
The video plays the artist's hit song, 3D (feat. Jack Harlow), as montages of his several stage performances flash on the screen. The video displays a statement, underscoring how the BTS idol's choices were the foundation of creating his debut solo album, GOLDEN.
"After recording his second single '3D (feat. Jack Harlow),' Jungkook decides to release an album fully in English."
In an interview with Alexander Zane Reed Lowe, aka Zane Lowe, for Apple Music, the BTS idol discussed his involvement and vision in everything from selecting the songs for GOLDEN to determining the album's promotion plan. This demonstrated how the BTS idol infused his personal touch throughout his solo endeavor.
The vocalist of Please Don't Change chose the promotion schedule in addition to being engaged in every step of the solo album's development and production. He discussed his involvement with the artistic idea and creative direction of the photoshoot during his 2023 DAZED and Vogue Korea cover shoot interviews.
The GOLDEN artist is serving in the South Korean military and will return in June 2025 alongside his bandmates BTS' RM, V, Suga, and Jimin.
