On January 1, 2025, BTS' Jungkook emerged as the first K-pop soloist to surpass 3.2 million album sales on Hanteo for his solo record GOLDEN. The SEVEN singer’s album became the best-selling K-pop album in Hanteo’s history. Jungkook’s GOLDEN was released on November 3, 2023.
The BTS member achieved this mark after exceeding the previous Kim Gun-mo’s 30-year-old record for Wrongful Meeting. BTS' Jungkook’s fans were delighted to see his solo album’s success. As a result, his fans poured the internet with praise for him and his work. One fan wrote on X:

Many other mixed reactions to Jungkook’s latest achievement were seen online. While some referred to him as an “undisputed music king,” others claimed that he is the “king of K-pop.”

BTS' Jungkook’s solo album GOLDEN became a bestseller in three major markets
BTS' Jungkook's GOLDEN vinyl turned out to be the best-selling K-pop soloist vinyl in three major regions on December 31, 2024. The three major markets comprise the United States, South Korea, and Japan.
After BTS' Jungkook's album premiere on November 3, 2023, the GOLDEN vinyl came out on November 8, 2024. BTS' Jungkook recorded the biggest vinyl launch as a K-pop soloist on Japan's ORICON Daily Albums chart with his solo record GOLDEN on November 21, 2024. The 3D singer’s GOLDEN vinyl debuted in Japan on November 18 after arriving in South Korea on November 8.
The BTS member’s GOLDEN features a compilation of eleven songs, including Closer to You (feat. Major Lazer), Seven (feat. Latto) Explicit Version, Yes or No, Shot Glass of Tears, Hate You, Somebody, Standing Next To You, Please Don't Change (feat. DJ Snake), Too Sad to Dance, and Seven(ft. Latto) Clean Version.
Currently, BTS' Jungkook is finishing his military service after joining in December 2023. His release is scheduled for June 2025 as per reports.
