On October 18, 2024, the South Korean K-pop girl group BLACKPINK surpassed 95 million subscribers on YouTube, sending the fandom into a frenzy. The band emerged as the first and only musical act to achieve the latest milestone in the history of the American online video-sharing platform.

For those unversed, BLACKPINK joined the YouTube community on June 29, 2016, and has accumulated over 37,127,987,841 views. They have shared 603 videos at the time of writing, including the music videos, choreography, and behind-the-scenes of the group activities.

Subsequently, the news about the group's latest milestone of surpassing 95 million subscribers circulated on social media. The fandom BLINKs could not contain their excitement, and naturally, an X user congratulated the band on X (formerly Twitter):

"Congratulations to BLACKPINK for surpassing 95 million subscribers on YouTube! This is an incredible achievement and solidifies their place in music history as the first and only act to reach this milestone. Their influence and popularity continue to grow."

The fandom shared multiple congratulating snippets to celebrate BLACKPINK's latest achievement. They added that 'proud' was an understatement. They mentioned that they would hit 100 million subscribers after making a comeback next year.

The users mentioned how the group continued to gain subscribers with their existing music videos even though they haven't made a proper comeback in the last three years.

The South Korean girl group has four members: Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rosé. It was formed by YG Entertainment and has been active in the industry since 2016. They debuted in August 2016 with their single album Square One, which included the popular tracks Whistle and Boombayah. The record was followed by the single album Square Two in November, and its track Playing with Fire emerged as the first song by a Korean girl band to enter the Billboard Canadian Hot 100.

The band has achieved multiple milestones to their name, such as their Born Pink World Tour, which emerged as the highest-grossing concert tour by a female group. They were the first Asian group to headline the music festival Coachella. The group has an impressive list of discography, including The Album, Born Pink, Blackpink in Your Area, Square Up, Kill This Love, How You Like That, The Girls, and Ddu-Du-Ddu-Du, among other records.


In recent news, the group members have moved their focus to individual and solo activities. As per Rolling Stone, YG Entertainment stated that the girl group will return for a world tour in 2025.
