Song Jae-rim reported to have suffered from Japanese malicious commenters until before his death

On November 13, 2024, iMBC reported that Queen Woo actor, Song Jae-rim, was allegedly harassed by a Japanese netizen. The actor committed s*icide on November 12 and left behind a two-page farewell note.

Yonhap News reported that Seongdong Police Station stated that the actor's body was found at 12.30 PM (KST) on November 12, in his apartment in Seongdong-gu, Seoul.

Meanwhile, according to iMBC's report, the Japanese netizen leaked private information regarding the Queen Woo actor before his death and continually harassed him. iMBC reported that several netizens took screenshots of the perpetrator's account where he allegedly shared defamatory content on Song Jae-rim.

The perpetrator took screenshots of the late actor's posts with his family and friends. He then posted those photos on his account and defamed the Queen Woo actor with comments like:

"Are the gifts from fans also considered posts dedicated to ○○? Can you hide your vulgar nature with your acting skills?"

However, the perpetrator deleted his account immediately once his account was revealed by other netizens.

Song Jae-rim passes away at the age of 39, leaving behind a two-page farewell letter

South Korean actor and model, Song Jae-rim, was known for his roles in Queen Woo (2024), Hello (2022), and Moon Embracing The Sun (2012), among others. Yonhap News reported that his funeral was held at Yeouido St. Mary's Funeral Home on November 12, 2024, and continues till November 14. His cremation will take place at the Seoul Metropolitan Crematorium.

YTN reported that the Queen Woo actor joined a new agency under 'Manager A' after leaving Saram Entertainment in 2023. The founder, known as 'Manager A', issued a heartfelt statement after the actor's untimely death and said:

"He is a well-known actor with a good personality, so many people around him recommended him, and we signed a contract after several meetings since the beginning of this year. We talked a lot about his activities, and he is an actor with a lot of passion for acting who wants to do a lot of work."

Manager A further added that he wished to stay by Song Jae-rim's side till the final day (cremation ceremony as per Korean rituals).

"Right now, I think all I can do is stay by Jae-rim's side until the day he leaves."

Meanwhile, Song Jae-rim's pre-filmed films and dramas will be released as part of his posthumous projects such as the upcoming Korean film, Plummet: A Man Who Lost His Business, and the K-drama Pitta Love. The release dates are yet to be announced.
