Squid Game 2 broke the records of its previous season and thanks to the massive popularity, the cast has seen an increase in their follower count as well. Created by Hwang Dong-hyuk, the Netflix thriller Squid Game became a global phenomenon in 2021, following Gi-hun's harrowing experience competing in life-threatening games for a substantial cash prize.
The second season, which returned in December, shifts focus to Gi-hun's efforts to dismantle the deadly games. The finale takes a dramatic turn as several of his fellow players are shot during a violent attempt to storm the control room.
While some fans loved it, some could not make do with the cliffhanger ending. Regardless, the cast constantly stayed in the spotlight and hence, amassed a large following as well.

Jo Yu-ri
Jo Yu-ri portrayed Kim Jun-hee, also known as Player 222, a determined young woman with a complicated history. It was unveiled that Jun-hee was Myung-gi's former lover and was expecting his child.
Her follower count shot up to 2.053 million from 1.69 million after gaining more than 350,000 followers.
Yim Si-wan
Yim Si-wan took on the role of Lee Myung-gi, also known as Player 333, a former cryptocurrency trader and YouTuber. He once ran a channel called "MG Coin," where he provided investment tips on cryptocurrency. After incurring severe losses, he ends up in the games.
Yim Si-wan's followers went from 2.1 million to 2.4 million.
Park Sung-hoon, Wi Ha-joon and T.O.P
Park Sung-hoon plays the role of Hyun-ju, a transgender character who comes to games hoping to win money for her surgery. Meanwhile, Wi Ha-joon portrays Jun-ho, a South Korean detective, who is on a quest to find his missing brother, In-ho. Lastly, T.O.P portrays the famous rapper Thanos.
Each of the three actors have gained around 200,000 followers each.
Lee Byung-hun, Won Ji-an, Park Gyu-young and Gong Yoo
Lee Byung-hun portrays the Front Man in Squid Game. Won Ji-an plays the role of Se-mi, the tom-boyish player in Thanos's team. Park Gyu-young plays No-eul, a masked guard and Gong Yoo plays the character of the Recruiter.
All four gained around 100,000 followers each.

Beside her in the photo was another actor also wearing a pink guard outfit, hinting at significant developments in the upcoming season.
Since the massive success of Season 1, Squid Game has taken strict measures to prevent spoilers, including requiring press attendees to sign embargo agreements and applying anti-photography stickers to their devices during events.
Despite these efforts, the leaked photo has now exposed critical details.
Netflix is known for enforcing strict penalties for breaches of confidentiality. In a recent interview with Newsen, Lee Seo-hwan mentioned that contracts explicitly outline the penalties for such violations.
As a result, speculation is growing over whether Netflix will seek compensation from Park Gyu-young for the security lapse.
