K-pop group SEVENTEEN released a new song Bad Influence in collaboration with singer Pharrell Williams at the Louis Vuitton Men's Fall-Winter 2025 showcase during the ongoing Paris Fashion Week. The song was released on January 21, 2025, and the fans criticised SEVENTEEN's label Pledis for alleged lack of promotions.
The news of the song came after member THE8 announced it on his Weibo account. Members S.Coups, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino have reportedly participated in the track produced and written by Pharrell Williams, who also serves as LV Men's Creative Director.
Fans have taken to social media to express their anger over Pledis' disregard for the new song.
"first there is nothing said about jun's INSANE project that he's doing with jackie chan, and now hao's literally part of such a big collab and not ONE WORD from you plybe.....i fucking hate y'all on another level IF YOU DON'T STOP SABOTOGING YOUR ARTIST ISTG?!?!?!" a fan commented.
"NEW SEVENTEEN SONG???? i thought it was just going to be a the8 x pharrell collab but it seems the whole group participated?? or atleast multiple members. i’m so confused.. WHERE IS THE PROMO" wrote a fan expressing their dejection.
"minghao is doing a huge collab with lv and pfw and pledis havent said a sh*t... junhui will be in a movie with >jackie chan< and pledis havent said a sh*t" commented a fan mentioning the song and Junhui's upcoming movie collaboration with Jackie Chan.
"Is the Seventeen mentioned here, Pledis seventeen?? They have a song called bad influence?" wrote a confused fan.
"At this point of life, I need a Going Commentary of all betrayals during Going Seventeen. Please hear me out @/pledis_17" came a tweet from another angry CARAT (fandom name).
"sorry it kinda pisses me off how seventeen has been doing these great things both individually and as a group but nothing is being announced or promoted by pledis :/" came another response to Pledis' alleged lack of promotions for the group.
While the fans are certainly miffed at Pledis, they did not shy away from expressing their love for the song. Louis Vuitton posted a snippet of the song on its social media as well, and fans lapped up the number.
"...WOAHH so this a group song? because i hear the voices of other seventeen members in it besides the8.. the song itself too.. WOW THIS IS SO COOL!!!" wrote a fan sharing the video and song details.
