On August 5, 2024, K-pop group Stray Kids and actress Kim Tae-ri won big at this year’s Korea Broadcasting Awards. The names of the winners were announced via their official website. This is the 51st edition of the awards. The awards ceremony will be held on September 2.
These awards are dependent upon recommendations by Korea’s top broadcasting firms. For Stray Kids, MBC made the recommendation based on their performances on their shows Music Core and Gayo Daejejeon. This will be the group’s first KBS award. Stray Kids has won the “Best Singer” award while Kim Tae-ri has won the "Best Actor" award.
KBS' 51st Broadcasting Awards ceremony will take place on September 2
Established in 1973, the Korean Broadcasting Awards recognize programs and broadcasters that realize the public value of broadcasting in an era of media competition. The awards ceremony is held every September. This year’s ceremony will be broadcast live on SBS TV from 3 pm to 5 pm on September 2.
On August 5, the Korean Broadcasting Association announced the results of their review of 243 programs and 63 broadcasters representing terrestrial broadcasting. They selected 30 works in 25 categories for program awards and 18 individuals in 20 categories for individual awards.
The names of actor Kim Tae-ri and K-pop group Stray Kids have risen among all the winners. Kim Tae-ri won the best actor award for her influential performance in the series, Revenant. This was the star’s first KBS award. The series as well as its writer, Kim Eunhee also emerged victorious in their respective categories.
Stray Kids won the “Best Singer” award. Some of the other awards that the group has won are Seoul Music Awards’ Bonsang, Golden Disc Awards’ Best New Artist and Best Album (5-Star), Asia Artist Awards’ Album of the Year and Best Music Video, MTV European Awards’ Best K-pop act, etc.

- Best Actor Award: Kim Tae-ri (recommended by SBS)
- Best Entertainer Award: Kwak Jun-bin (recommended by EBS)
The selection of the winners has made several fans happy, and they now await their red-carpet looks in the coming month.
