On October 17, 2024, BTS fans were ecstatic as J-hope was officially discharged from the military after completing his 18-month service. The excitement only grew when the eldest member, Jin, surprised everyone by showing up to welcome the rapper back.
Dressed in an eye-catching all-maroon Gucci outfit, Jin arrived with a large bouquet. Reporters and fans had gathered outside the military unit to witness J-hope’s return. As he stepped out, waving and bowing to the crowd, Jin emerged from one of the cars, sparking even more excitement.
The rapper-dancer was delighted to see Jin, the only BTS member so far to have completed his service in June this year. The other members — RM, Suga, Jimin, V, and Jungkook — are still fulfilling their military commitments.
Fans, affectionately referring to the pair as the "2 Seoks" with Jin known as the "Moon" and J-hope as the "Sun," celebrated the reunion on social media.

Many expressed their joy, saying the Sun and Moon had finally come together again. They eagerly anticipate what the duo might have planned for the future.

BTS' J-hope addresses media waiting outside the camp
The idol, who enlisted in April 2023, briefly interacted with reporters. J-hope thanked fans and the public for their unwavering support during his time in the military. He expressed his gratitude for being able to complete his service in good health and acknowledged the reporters who had gathered to cover the event.
"I have to say a word of thanks. Firstly, thank you so much. I was discharged from the military in good health. Thank you really. I want to thank all the reporters who came this long way. And I was able to finish the service well and in good health thank to the fans," he said.
As J-hope spoke, Jin graciously assisted him by holding microphones, showcasing their strong bond. J-hope also reflected on his role as an assistant drill instructor during his service. He mentioned the marches he participated in and how the citizens of Wonju would always cheer on the soldiers.
He urged the public to continue showing love and encouragement to the nation's armed forces, highlighting the hard work and dedication of long-term military personnel.
