In response to the casting report, the actress' agency, Soop Management, confirmed to another publication, Donga, that Suzy had received a casting offer and was currently reviewing it.
According to the report, the actress was initially offered the casting role in the drama Delusion during the pre-production stage. However, due to the scheduling issues, the casting fell through. Subsequently, after the production schedule was adjusted, the female artist was again offered the leading role in the upcoming drama.
Suzy will reportedly chronicle the character of a mysterious vampire, Song Jeong-hwa
The thriller and mystery drama Delusion is set against the backdrop of 1935 Gyeongseong and 1800s Shanghai. The drama will depict ambiguous and mysterious incidents that occur to painter Yoon Yi-ho. He is assigned the task of creating a portrait of an appealing vampire woman, Song Jeong-hwa. However, he eventually becomes fascinated by her beauty as he frequents her hotel.
Meanwhile, Suzy would portray the character of the leading character in the series, playing the role of a mysterious vampire, Song Jeong-hwa. Delusion is adapted from the webtoon of the same name, which was serialized on the South Korean platform Naver from September 2019 to November 2020.
Delusion is expected to be directed by Han Jae-rim, known for series such as The Face Reader, Emergency Declaration, The King, The Show Must Go On, and Rules of Dating. Han Jae-rim recently participated in the production of the Netflix series The 8 Show as a screenwriter and director. The historical and horror series is also known by names such as Deception, Dazzle, Hyeonhog, and Hyeonhok.
Previously, Han So-hee and Ryu Jun-yeol were in talks to star in the series. However, both sides decided to drop the project due to their breakup news. Recently, Suzy has been gearing up to appear in the upcoming Netflix romance series All the Love You Wish For alongside Kim Woo-bin. Suzy and Kim Woo-bin previously worked together in the 2016 melodrama Uncontrollably Fond.
