Fans of Stray Kids' leader, Bang Chan, are expressing their concern and support after JYP Entertainment announced his temporary withdrawal from scheduled activities on January 12, 2025. The agency shared that the artist was experiencing sudden flu symptoms and would not be attending two planned events: the "合 (HOP)" SOUNDWAVE Korea video call and fan sign event, and the "合 (HOP)" StarRiver China video call event.

According to JYP, the decision was made based on medical advice to prioritize Bang Chan's health. The agency reassured fans that the artist is currently resting and receiving the necessary care to ensure a speedy recovery. The notice stated,

"As recommended by medical professionals, Bang Chan is currently taking adequate rest. The decision to exclude Bang Chan was made for the safety of both the artist and fans. We would like to apologize to STAY who have been looking forward to his schedule and ask for your kind understanding."

They also apologized for any inconvenience caused to fans who were eagerly anticipating his participation in these events. The winners of the scheduled events will be individually notified through official channels about further details.

Fans took to social media to send an outpouring of support, with many wishing Bang Chan a quick recovery and urging him to prioritize his health. An X user, @binnie_012 wrote,

Some fans pointed out the unfavorable weather conditions in South Korea, urging everyone to prioritize their health and stay safe.

"The flu is super bad right now in Korea. I have so many friends sick. Rest well and get better soon, Channie!," a fan commented.
"Everyone in Korea is sick right now and it is tough- people are saying worse than covid- so when he mentioned going Im not surprised it came back. Mine did it and it sucks. Rest up," an X user added.
