Tarot Episode 4 Recap: What fate did the card decide for Young-Ji’s mother aka “Rental Mom”?

On July 15, U+mobiletv debuted the multiverse dark drama Tarot: Stories of 7 Cards, starring Jo Yeo-jeong, Park Ha-sun, Dex, and many more. New episodes air every Monday and Tuesday.

The suspense drama Tarot has seven chapters, each of which presents a different story about seven people who are dealt cards. In order to unravel the mystery behind the card, they set off on a sinister and unsettling trip.

The protagonists are portrayed to get a tarot card in each of the seven episodes—Santa's Visit, Phishing, Single Locker, Please Throw It Away, Rent Mom, Late-Night Taxi, and Couple Manager—after which their situation deteriorates.

Tarot episode 4 recap: How does Young-ji's mother retaliate?

Eun-san woke up to the sound of thunder and rushed to her mother. She complained of hearing strange noises but got dismissed as it was the sound coming from the heater. The woman who opened the door found a Tarot card on the floor and gave it to Eun-san.

The mothers were talking about how Young-ji was saying weird things to other kids. Eun-san was playing with Young-ji and her mother went to check on them but Young-ji scared her with the make-up she had on. After the mother has left, Eun-san asked if Young-ji put the card in her mother's room which she refused.

Young-ji's mother was with the other mothers, but they mistreated her due to her lower economic status and living on rent, except for Eun-san's considerate mother. Young-ji and Eun-san became friends after Young-ji protected Eun-san from a dog.

Back at the house, Young-ji told Eun-san about seeing things falling in her bathroom. When the two mothers returned to the house, Young-ji was just leaving.

The next day, Eun-san had a dream where she saw a woman falling from her bed. She woke up to find Young-ji and her mother by her bed. Her mother asked her to play with Young-ji. Young-ji told her that she could show her the woman falling in her wash basin and she would need a mirror and matches.

Young-ji and Eun-soo used a bucket and a matchstick to try to see the woman. Young-ji warned Eun-soo not to look in the mirror, but she did, and it broke. Eun-soo's mother brought Young-ji's mother to the mothers' meeting, where they mentioned Young-ji's declining grades and strange behavior.

During the meeting, Young-ji's mother needed to use the washroom, and Eun-soo's mother accompanied her. While waiting, Young-ji's mother wet her pants, which Eun-soo's mother noticed. Back at the house, Eun-soo accused Young-ji of stealing her doll, leading to a fight. Eun-soo's mother intervened and pushed Young-ji away.

She called Young-ji's mother and asked her whether Young-ji stole it but she refused. Eun-soo's mother insulted her for being poor and Young-ji's mother started crying. Eun-soo found the doll and Young-ji asked her to show it to her mother or throw it out otherwise the ghost would follow her.

The other two mothers prepared a cake for Young-ji's mother for her birthday but when they got to the room, they found Eun-san's mother hanging by the balcony, while trying to help her, they were pushed over by Young-ji's mother. Young-ji walked into the room and patted her mother on the head.

In the next shot, Young-ji's mother can be seen holding a dog and Young-ji patting her on the head, asking her to be careful of who she befriends. She let the dog go and Young-ji ran after it to save its next victim from the dog.
