Tarot Episode 5-6 Recap: What happens to Kyeong-rae and Sun-ju?
Going Home
Episode 5 of Tarot starts with Kyeong-rae in a police car, trying to explain that the happenings started when he discovered a Tarot card in the dorms.
The scene then cuts to Kyeong-rae in a hotel with a woman, lying to his wife that he is taking care of his drunk manager. While she insists that he come home, he decides to leave the woman there and go to his family.
This decision of his, however, does not sit right with her and she threatens to call his wife and tell her the truth. Somehow, he gets out of there, catches a taxi and asks the driver to put his phone on charge. Something about the driver seems off. He gets enraged quickly and has a bloodied driver's license which also has someone else's face on it.
The driver explains that he has not updated the picture on his license but Kyeong-rae is still wary. He takes a different route into the forest and abruptly stops as he has a deal to make. He gets out of the car to attend to nature's call. Meanwhile, he is speaking to someone on the phone about draining blood and selling organs. Kyeong-rae eavesdrops. The driver finds him right behind him and asks him to get inside the car since it is cold.
Kyeong-rae asks for his phone but the driver tells him that he is unable to find it. Frightened for his life, Kyeong-rae stabs the driver on his neck with a ballpoint pen and kills him. Unable to start the car, he waits for the buyers to come and shows them the body in the backseat of the car. The buyers are confused and check the trunk to find a dead deer, which was originally the deal.
After a brawl with two buyers, Kyeong-rae kills them with a log and continues on his way. A police van stops him, questioning him about a dead woman in a hotel. Kyeong-rae claims he killed her in self-defense because she threatened to call his wife. He then stabs the policeman and escapes.
On a call with his wife and daughter, he praises his daughter for her courage in a fight. He then places a card in a compartment, ending the fifth episode of Tarot.
Phishing
Sun-ja, played by Oh Yu-jin is looking at cars while live-streaming her search for a good car. In the car she chooses, she finds a Tarot card. For her next stream, she gets a man she found on a dating app to come to a park and pretend to hump a rabbit statue. However, the video was deleted because of her using swear words in it. Her manager suggests she stop making videos this way but she refuses.
In her next live-stream, she dresses up as a waitress and responds to all the fan comments. One fan helps her know the meaning of the Tarot card she found which indicates a chariot, representing the momentum of rushing towards success. Jun-sa also reveals the plan for her next video.
As she reaches the room where she is supposed to meet her next target, she finds a person sitting in the bathtub. Turn out it is just a doll as the head falls out. She apparently has CCTV installed everywhere in the room as well.
The man also finds the bathtub and the doll in it and tries to speak to it, thinking it to be the woman he is supposed to meet. The head comes off and he gets startled. Angry, he storms off.
While on her way back, she finds that the man she just pranked has started streaming himself. Through his streams, she finds that the man has reached her house. She reaches her apartment with the police and looks for the man but does not find anyone.
While she goes for another livestream, she finds another video of the man. Turns out he has been hiding in her closet and suddenly grabs her by the neck. In the next scene, the manager is met with the same doll prank but this time, the doll is actually Sun-ja. As the man live-streams this, the 6th episode of Tarot comes to an end.
The next and last episode of Tarot will be released on August 5.
