On Friday, December 13, the NewJeans members were spotted at the airport as they departed South Korea for a few upcoming schedules in Japan. During the same, fans noticed that several bodyguards surrounded the girl group members as they made their way across the airport. Many also commented that the security was heavier than usual.

Naturally, fans couldn't help but speculate that this might be because the group is no longer a part of their former agency, ADOR. Therefore, fans also stated that the girls' parents might have arranged for the recent airport security to be assigned to the NewJeans members. One user said:

"Way too many bodyguards than usual that's how you know it's the NewJeans parents doing"
"New Jeans parents got New Jeans moving like a President, all those bodyguards," said a fan on X.
"NWJNs parents took over booking security and doubled everything, love it lol," commented a netizen.
"the number of bodyguards hello??? so many men in black 😭 new jeans' parents really don't play abt their kids," added another fan.

More fans and netizens talked about how they were impressed with the security of the K-pop girl group members.

"Wow, the bodyguards..Hybe could never," stated a netizen.
"Their parents got them right with all those security guards iktrrr," added another fan.
"the amount of bodyguards their parents don't play when it comes to safety," said an X user.

All you need to know about NewJeans' departure from their agency, ADOR

On November 28, the NewJeans members held an emergency press conference to announce their departure and exclusive contract termination with ADOR. Previously, the K-pop girl group released a 14-day ultimatum statement that expressed certain demands that needed to be met by ADOR.

Some of these demands included action against the alleged workplace harassment that Hanni experienced at the hands of a HYBE group manager, an apology for downplaying the group's success, and more. It also added that a failure to meet these demands in the span of two weeks would lead to the group's departure from the agency.

Therefore, on the last day of the 14-day ultimatum, NewJeans held an emergency press conference announcing their termination from ADOR as of November 29, 12 AM KST. During the press conference, Minji mentioned that ADOR reportedly sent an email to the members regarding the ultimatum, expressing that 2 weeks wasn't enough time to meet all the demands.

Regardless, the members felt that the agency was neither protecting nor helping the development of NewJeans as an artist. She said:

"The contents of the email were serious. The email stated that 14 days was not enough time, that they regret there was no communication with ADOR, and that there were matters they couldn't address because they weren't ADOR's doing. "

She continued:

"However, they took no substantial action and we had made these demands back in September as well. The email was full of lies and excuses, and was merely a stalling tactic. Therefore, we are terminating our exclusive contract as of midnight on the 29th."

While ADOR released another statement requesting NewJeans to consider continuing their contract under the agency, the members have decided to go ahead with their contract termination.
